Question about Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Personal Web Camera

Logitech Communicate STX videos plays back static!

When recording a video on my Logitech Communicate STX, after a minute and 40 seconds, there is this really loud static sound that comes on when I play the video back. How can I prevent this?

Normal 0 Two things can cause static.
First, If you have your speakers turned up to high it will give you feedback causing distortion and static. I recommend using a headset when videoing.
Second reason is, if you are using a laptop and have added an external microphone between the two it will cause distortion and static.
Not knowing the configuration of your computer makes it harder to analyze the problem.

Microphone works not videeo


Try this free webcam test site. If you don't see yourself immediately click on the drop down box below the Live Camera window to choose your Logitech. You can then record yourself and play it back. On the playback your webcam fps will appear below the play window. If you still can't see yourself then your software driver is not loaded. Install it from disc or from the Logitech web site.

Almost all webcams will record video. You can record video with your webcam with Debut video capture software. It's a free tool and very simple to use.

Logitech quickcam communicate stx will not save videos


Make sure your really recording a video and you have enough hard drive space for saving the recorded video on your computer. You might have to reinstall also the webcam software to resolve this recording problem.

Playback distortion


When recording turn down your speakers or wear headphones. What your hearing is the feedback from the speakers.

When i make a video, i hear static in between the middle of the video and can only hear the first and last couple of seconds.......how to i get rid of the static and why does it do that?
