Can I put another hard drive in my hp pavilion a735w I tried but there is no slot to put it in. can't i just lay it in there and make it work.? Not sure how to connect the cables to the drives

You caould purchase an external caddy to house the hard drive, this way all you need to do is plug it into usb port saves having to open and close the machine and also worrying about which cable goes where

this could be an indicator of a damaged hard drive. It can also be caused by not booting from the CD itself. ensure your booting from the CD. if you are, it appears that the file structure on your harddrive is damaged and needs to be replaced..
check your user manual for booting from the cd, its usually pressing F9 when the system boots (where it ask you to press del to enter setup, you can also enter the setup and set the first boot device as CD.
You need to first check the settings of mouse in the control panel and try to plug in the mouse again ,,, and check if rnot try to reinstall the windows , it might be because the driver you have on the system has gone corroupt
Dont know check the intel website for requirements then put you model into the web and you should get the chip set and cpu and memory types and compare to the requirements but of hand you need minimum P4 with at leats 4G and a good video card to see any difference.
check the light at the rear panel of the tower ... if it is solid green then reseat the cables coming out of the smps and going to the motherboard and other device drives(Hard Drive and CD/DVD drive).... if there is no light smps might have gone bad
