Question about Frigidaire 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range - White-on-White

1 Answer

The clock started flashing as if the power went out. Then when we tried to

Bake something, the oven turned on just fine. A few minutes later it went off and the clock went black. We were unable to turn it back on. I moved the oven out from the wall, and it came back on. I baked some cookies. The next day same thing, only this time moving it did not make it come back on. Now, the clock is flashing again. This oven is only three years old. It still looks brand new. Thank you for any assistance you could offer.

The plug receptacle may be bad. Check the plug for proper tension. If feels loose, have the receptacle replaced. Inspect the plug for discoloration. (a sign of a bad receptacle)

Hi Cynthia

F5 error code normally means control board or clock failure. It means you will have to have a new control board and clock fitted.

Oven comes on for 5 min then shuts down everything even the keyboard

Same problem here on JKP15WOW1WW. The cycle starts like this:
1) Open circuit Breaker
2) Open oven panel and push ribbon connector to ERC. Replace planel.
3) Close circuit breaker
4) Run to oven, notice clock flashing some time but not 12:00 and start Bake. Bake button beeps and starts bake coil.
5) Within 5 minutes hear a beep and all buttons on panel are unresponsive. Bake continues. if oven light is on it continues to glow. Only button that responds with a beep (and not to clear bake or oven light) is Clear botton.
Rinse..wash..lather...repeat...

Door lock lites keeps flashing but the door is not locked

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

TOP BURNERS WORK BUT OVEN DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.

Sounds like a heating element. Same thing happend to my oven. You can find them around 50-60 dollars. Veryy easy to install, just remove a couple of screws and remove old element and put in new one. Make sure you shut off power to oven firstg of course.

Whirlpool accubake oven problem

Hi All,

I tired the delayed bake work around and it didn't help me.

So, being a trained scientist... I know just enough to be dangerous! Here's what I learned. (imitate me at your own risk. This thing is on a 220V circuit at 30A... you or someone else in your house could get badly killed if you do something wrong. You definitely want to send small children to the movies, or at least to bed before trying this!)

First, I turned the self-clean on for 60 seconds to see if both elemets were working. The broiler got bright red but the bake element didn't. The door unlocked as soon as I shut it off, so I could I touched an ice cube to a few insided parts to see how hot they were. The bottom of the oven was barely warm, but the baking element instantly melted and sizzled my ice cube.

Good enough for me: Both heating elements are working, so it must be a controller problem.

Next I turned the power off at circuit breaker, and double checked that the oven was dead. I pulled it out of the wall and removed the top sheet metal cover. Inside I found a red plastic envelope containing a "Tech Sheet". It has a schematic diagram, plus a table that explains the error codes and what to do about them. Be sure to read all the dire warnings and the bit about "For Service Technician's use only" before deciding that you are foolish enough to do anything with it. :-)

I undid and inspected the connector for the printed ribbon cable from the keypad to the controler circuit board. (I happen to know, being a scientist, that 90% of all problems in the universe are caused by bad contact) I didn't see anything obviously wrong, so I reassebled it carefully, making sure the ribbon was fully seated.

I then powered the thing up. It said PF for power failure. I pressed cancel for 5 seconds and it said F0E0 which means no pre-existing fault was detected.

I then pressed bake, and lo and behold the damn thing baked! :-)

I'm not certain it was bad contact, since the other 90% of the world's problems are caused by software. It's entirely possible that power cycling was this thing's idea of CTRL-ALT-DEL. Maybe someone can try flipping the breaker off for 10 minutes without taking anything apart, to see if that clears the problem?

I also have no idea how long this will stay fixed....

Has anyone tried calling Whirlpool? 1-866-698-2538, M-F, 8 am - 8 pm Local Market Time, Sat. 8:30 am - 5 pm Local Market Time, according to their website.
Stay tuned... if I'm not back, the thing is still baking... :-)

Re.probe and bake

I had the same problem and pulled off the contorl panel and removed the ribbion looking thing. You might have to do this a few times and wiggle it a little. It took me about 4 trys to get it to stop. also you can lock the control panel and the beeping will stop...this was my temp fix until I figured out how to get the control panel off and what to do.

Kemore Gas oven - trouble igniting

Hi Deeg, there was a service flash regarding this problem. The bake burner and bake igniter have been modified to assure consistent oven ignition and performance. The number of ports on the burner have increased located at the electrode tip. The electrode shield has also been modified. This repair should be covered under warranty. The kit part number is 8190618 for your information. If your serial number ranges from RK01 through RR11, this is your problem. I would call Sears and request service. Catriver.
