Sound started getting garbled then went out all together. No audio on any input. unpluging then plugging back in gets sound back garbled and only at very high volume. Tried software update, no help. Any ideas would be helpful since the closest repair center is over 2 hours away.

Found a FIX.... Bought a new Sony ... I will never buy another Thompson product G.E., RCA TTE...None of them. The support is a joke. The "warranty" is as dependable as the product. COMPLETELY WORTHLESS

Why is there a picture, but no sound?

Make sure the audio is plugged into the same input as the video on the back of the tv. (ex. Video is on input 1 then Audio should be on input 1)

We get garbled sound on new sharp aquos +Q TV 60 inch

If you are using an antenna for input, then you are probably partially losing sync with the signal. You may want to adjust the antenna or try a signal booster. If you have input from a cable box, check the HDMI cable, possibly replacing it with a new one. If you're using a cable box with RCA cables, (Composite or component inputs) then the problem is most likely with the cable box loosing sync with the channel feed.

Can't get sound

Sounds (pardon the pun) like the HDMI was providing audio as well a video feed even though you had separate audio cables plugged in. You could test this by plugging the HDMI back in and unplugging the audio.

My guess is you need to select the audio source in the device (what is it? A TV?)

My sound just went out and the picture is fine

Be sure the speakers are "on" on the menu......un plug it and your cable or sat reciever for a bit and re start them both. Lastly see if problem still there on a dvd player........if may need a main board. You may be able to circuimvent by getting sound thru a surround or amplified spkr set up and hook to your cable or sat reciever too

TV has no sound

First try resetting by unplugging totally from the AC, then reconnect and try again. if still no audio, check all inputs to make sure its not a bad cable/sat box , next check for a speaker switch either on the back of the Tv or in the menu. make sure the cable box and TV is not in SAP second audio program mode. if these all fail then you make need the audio IC replaced on the main board

No sound and analog channels

THis is been an issue with these sets. Rca has issued a bullteen on these sets.. There is a problem with the digital board. you cant get them... but the fix is to replace a small(very very small ) suface mounted fuse on the board... most qualifed tech can do this repair. so if you can solder surface mounted componets ussally takes twezzers and a big lighted magnifer.. and if you can get the special surface mounted fuse(seems to be a shortage of them) Replacement fuse #275819. u might can fix this. repair is possible

Component 1 and 2 audio inputs function poorly or not at all

They get old and get dusty, and with people in the house, things get stuck in those holes that shouldn't be. Try cleaning it out with some dust spray.
