Question about GE GSH25JFR Side by Side Refrigerator
Water and ice will not stop flowing after removing glass when filling.
Although I don't have this problem, I took my dispenser apart tonight for a different reason. Moving the lever with the glass actuates a mechanical switch. It's a really simple mechanism. If I were you, I would check to see if that mechanical switch is sticking. Maybe someone had a glass of soda or something sticky, which splashed up there when they got ice. That could be enough to gum it up.
Taking it apart was not tough. The plastic border pulls right off. Then the assembly that has the buttons and lights on it can be removed by pushing it downward enough so that it clears the plastic holders, and then you just pull the top edge towards you. At that point I unplugged the fridge so I couild disconnect some connectors. Then 4 screws gets the whole glass switch assembly out. You should be able to inspect the mechanical switch operation at that point to see if it is sticking.
