Question about Digital Cameras

1 Answer

I think that I may have deleted my pictures when I pressed the "format" button rather than the cancel button on my camera. When I tried to view my pics, the message said that there were "no files" but the picture counter at the top right still shows the number of pics in my camera. There is also a "lock" device that I do not know how to work. I have a Casio ExiLim Can you help me

I have a Casio ExiLim Digital camera and I think that I may have accidentally deleted my pics by pressing the format button on my

camera. The view message says that there are no files in my camera.

There is also a lock icon visible on my camera that I do not know how

to unlock. I have a 1gb memory card that was in the camera when the

    pics were taken.

Can someone help me? Did I lose all of my pics?

Do you have a memory card in this camera?

You should remove that 1 GB memory card and plug it into a card reader attached to your computer. This will enable you to view the contents of the memory card directly, and you can check for your pictures.

Another possibility is that, while you may have formatted and erased your memory card, there may still be pictures saved in the camera's internal memory. This would depend on the exact model of your Casio ExiLim. Can you post your camera's model number here?

Format the card again.

The memory card should be formatted each time you finish transferring your pictures to your computer, in order to avoid exactly this type of situation.

Cards not working with camera

If you used the SD/MMC memory card in another brand of camera or device, you may need to format the card in your new EasyShare digital camera. (You may have noticed a "Memory Card Needs Formatting" message when you inserted the card.) CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card. To format the SD/MMC memory card or the internal memory of the camera: Transfer images to the computer before formatting the memory card. Press the camera Menu button. Highlight SETUP MENU, and then press the OK button. Highlight FORMAT, and then press the OK button. Highlight an option - MEMORY CARD (deletes everything on the card), CANCEL (exits without formatting), or INTERNAL MEMORY (deletes everything in internal memory). Press the OK button. Highlight Continue, and then press the OK button. Wait until formatting is finished before removing the card. When formatting is complete, the SETUP MENU is displayed. Press the Menu button to exit the menu.
