Hello misspay,

According to Microsoft Support, the 4 red lights mean the Audio-Visual (AV) cable is not connected or plugged into your Xbox 360 correctly. Please make sure the AV cable is connected correctly to your Xbox 360. To do this, disconnect the AV cable and firmly connect the AV cable to the Xbox 360 console.

I hope this fixes your problem here is a link that will provide you with more solutions to try and fix the issue.

Sincerely,

Agent Xiong

I plugged a usb stick into my xbox then started it, now i only get the red light and an error warning =( Anyway i can fix that?

how many red lights? what is the secondary error code? find this by holding down the sync button and pressing the ejectbutton 4 times.
1 light=1
2 lights=2
3 lights =3
4 lights =0
ex.1,2,3,4 ould be code 1230

but based on what little info you gave me, you could have physically broken the drive port. you can try removing the stick and starting it up. If that doesn't work, remove the HDD as well. make sure all your cables are plugged in tight and in the right places

Turn the console on, displays the xbox screen then screen goes off and a red light starts flashing on console, says system error

is this a single red light? if so, it is a E code error. if there are 2, it is a overheating problem. if its 3, it is a general system error which could be a number of things which you need to figure out the secondary error code to narrow down the problem.
to find the secondary error code:
1. after the red lights start flashing, hold down the "controller sync" button.
2. push the "eject" button 4 times and count the amount of red lights that flash. the red lights will begin to flash rapidly. secondary error codes are only 4 numbers. 1 light = 1, 2 lights = 2, 3 lights = 3 and 4 lights = 4.
after you get the code go to this website, and on the right hand side of the screen under "Xbox Repair Guide" select your PRIMARY error code (1,2,3 or 4 slow flashing red lights). then it will ask you to enter your SECONDARY error code, which is the one you discovered in the steps above.
this will give you a very narrowed down idea of what is wrong with your console, and will give us "questions answerers" a better idea on how to help ya out!

My xbox360 has one red light flashing

1 red light usualy means hardware failure. There is another error code you can get of of xbox. While machine is on push the the sync button on console and while sync is pushed in press eject button. The lights on the console will give you youre first digit. Theres 4 in total. Repeat pressing the sync and eject button till you have got the four digits and console is back to the red light.
When getting codes the lights will light up. 1 red light means 1 2 means 2 and so on. 4 red lights means 0. Let us know and ill get back to you.

When i turn my xbox 360 on it starts running hard then the controller lights on the device start flashing red.

Four lights around the power button flash red on your Xbox 360 console. Four flashing lights indicates that the console does not detect an audio/video (AV) cable.
Note Four flashing red lights will not appear on consoles that have both an AV port and an HDMI port.

My XBOX lost power

Well, check to make sure the outlet Isn't faulty. Also, when it shuts off, do 1, 2, 3 , or 4 red lights appear around the power button? It they do: I'm not sure what the 1 light signifies, but I do now that 2, or 3 red lights mean overheating. Either buy an intercooler (under $30, USD) , or replace the system. 4 lights is the famous Red Ring of Death. Aka,
when you see four red lights, you're 360 is dead. Contact Microsoft, if it's still under warranty, (they have a 3 yr warranty on this) they'll fix it for free. If not, be prepared to shell out $140 USD.

X Box 360

This exact thing is happening to not only me but to also a friend of mine. You will probably notice that the fan kicks on really high and then goes to 2 flashing red lights, this is because the 360 is overheating or thinks its overheating. My friend's 360 starts up with the fan kicked on high and then only plays for a minute or 2, followed by the 2 red lights. If its under warranty send it back to Microsoft, I took mine and my friends 360 apart and replaced the thermal paste with arctic silver, but it kind of only helped a little for mine and not at all for my friends. SEND IT BACK!!!!!!
