Computer shut off

I recently did a fresh install of xp32bit on a computer that had been working fine on old crt monitior. decided to put compuer on samsung dlp/lcd 58"
tv. upon windows xp formats fine, copies files for installation but when install screen promps computer shuts off. long story short new computer with
diffrent mb/proc/ram/hd and int vid does exact same thing.upon trying diff
ideas 2 things constant (windows vista loads fine on dlp/lcd widescreen
and xp will load fine only if i go back to standard crt) dlp/lcd tv by samsung
has pc vga on connection board tryed this connection as well as hdmi which my computer supports. figured may just have to live with vista if i want to use tv as monitior. so ibought a ati 3870 hd vid card also from BB
and life is good until i run either bench marks or games such as call of duty
at which point computer turns off again. you can restart and as long as
tasks are simple no problem. once you start demands from video as stated
computer shuts down. absolutely no heat issues and have tryed 3 power supplys up to 550 watts no difference. i understand something crazy may
be up but really puzzles me is why vista will load and operate until games
are played and xp wont even finish install.

You have a hardware conflict or a bad power supply/MB. or a bad video card/driver. or a bad RAM chip. uninstall everything but one chip, one HDD and CDROM, and one video card. install the OS rom there... then add items until it becomes unstable. the last thing you installed is the bad boy.

I used to have the same problem, the chipset driver none for vista 64 > system will assume Intel v.8 core driver XP64bit as the driver.
two solution that comes up to me :
1.downgrade to XP32bit most feature eg.webcam works fine (xp64bit = motion eye app wont go)
2.Upgrade to win7 ultimate 32/64bit both works (64bit some missmatch driver found on IDE/ATA Controller >> always goes to standard dual channel)

LCD monitor stopped working on my CPU but works on my Brother's

Definitely some electrolytic capacitors are blown inside the monitor in power supply module. Open it and observe any of them rounded on top, replace with proper ones.
You see, controller operations with VGA and DVI inputs takes different current from the supply, that's why it may take different time until PWM chip in the power supply will decide it is time to shut down before getting smoked.
Replace capacitors.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000. I was recently

Remove the drive by turning the computer upside down and take the screw out between the battery and the memory cover (next to a padlock symbol). Insert the screw driver into the little notch in the plate next to where the screw was and slide it towards the drive. The drive should now pop out. Boot the computer. Shut the computer down and reinsert the drive and reboot.

Tried formatting now to display Toshiba Satellite

Hi,
It sounds more like a problem at the inverter end, probably dry joints on the coil or a cable has disconnected from it. Either way you will have to remove the screen bezel (plastic screen surround) to get to the inverter. The inverter is an elongated circuit board under the screen itself, just check that the cables are connected, if they are disconnect the cables and remove any screws holding the inverter to the lid and take it out.
Look at the back of the inverter for the coil (it will have copper wires coming from it) and re-solder the points around the coil, put back the inverter and connect the cables to it and turn on the laptop.
You will probably find the display works fine and you can re-assemble the screen bezel and carry on with your install.

Good luck.

Computer is not reading USB cable for digital camera

see many a times the drivers files are corrupted after a particular period of time due to loading of some other softwares or programs getting crosslinked with few necessary files.i would suggest you to uninstall the driver completely first then install it fresh again.its a common problem and will get solved after reloading fresh drivers again.thanks.

Samsun15'' monitor (2003 model) crt monitor appearing fully green

Sounds like the red guns aren't firing. Check the pins on the VGA cable to make sure that none are bent. Also plug in a different video card (or plug the monitor in to a different computer). If the monitor is fine, then you need to replace the video card.

If they aren't, you're looking at a fairly expensive repair.
