You should be good.
Aube/Honeywell timers have internal rechargeable battery that powers the display. Battery is not replaceable. Plus the electronics inside timers are susceptible to power surge. Without the display, timer cannot be used. These timers come with standard 1 year limited warranty. http://waterheatertimer.org/Aube-timers.html
The battery won't go dead while you're driving the car. It's utterly impossible for anything to operate with the battery cables disconnected. There's probably an internal short in the solid state resistor that controls the blower motor.
You can increase the contrast by pressing and releasing the 2ND button, then pressing and holding the up-arrow. If you go too far, you can decrease the contrast in the obvious way, using the down-arrow instead of the up-arrow.
This could be the battery causing the display to act strangely. If the radio still works audio-wise, the following should fix the display:
The older model wave radios have either a 9v or 3 AA batteries (accessible from the bottom). Remove any battery, and reset the system by unplugging the power cord for about 40 seconds. Plug it back in without the battery attached.
If the problem goes away- replace the battery or batteries. (which is only there to hold the clock time, presets etc when not plugged in)
BTW- you'll have to set the clock, alarm, presets etc after this procedure.
If the problem doesn't go away, call Bose. I think they can repair this for $99 and/or offer a new one as a trade-in discounted.
Hello,
Back to the original problem. Would it not be a good idea to have the calculator repaired, if cost of repairs is significantly less than the price of a new one? But then, what do I know?
This sounds like a simple battery replacement. Depending on how low the battery is usually pressing the light button and the display goes dim or blank is a good indicator of this. Takes a CR1616 battery and be careful of the spring inside and make sure the seal is in the correct position. You will need to touch the AC button and the back of the battery with a pair tweezers for a couple of seconds to reset the watch. Put the case back on and set the watch thru the functions.
SAME PROBLEM FOR ME! sometimes it shows a bunch of wierd random numbers and symbols and it wont let me do anything but then it goes away and wont turn back on .. have installed new batteries and tried the one battery reinstall trick w/ the clear and on buttons.. no luck PLEASE HELP
