Washer spins but not enough to extract water from clothes or tub.

Washing machine performs a limited spin cycle but not enough to extract all the water from the clothes or the tub. Clothes still drip. When you place your hand on the maching during the spin cycle you can feel how weak the spinning is. top loader does not spin all water out of drum. Clothes are still dripping..

Could be a loss belt or a kinked hose, since you say it feels weak i would think it is not getting up to speed which would be a loss belt or drive train issue, of course it could just be to big a load or on slow spin speed setting

After final rinse and spin cycle clothes are still wet

I can't solve this but am having a similar problem. There is no water in the tub but the spin cycle does not get enough water out of the clothes and they're very wet. This causes the towels especially... to smell really bad. The tub is very loose. How can this be fixed.

Spin Cycle Fails to Extract Sufficient Water

GO TO www.repairclinic.com enter your model number and look for parts 3365 and 2595. If either is worn or doesn't look as good as the pics you may want to change them. And you also may want to tighten the belt more.

Kenmore 90 Series washer needs two spins to remove water

We have exact same washer. It is 11 years old. We are at a point where we have to spin it 7 times and then still isn't too dry. It dies yesterday a very loud death. Mentioning this here because it could be a foreshadowing of your Kenmore 90's future.

Spin cycle not working properly, clothes still wet!!!!

When the clothes are wet at the end of a cycle, check these:
Motor coupler Totest the motor coupler, re-start the washer in its spin cycle. Let themachine run for a minute, and then open the lid and notice whether thetub is spinning:

  • If it's spinning when you lift the lid, the coupler is fine.

  • Ifit isn't spinning--and your machine was produced by Whirlpool®--you mayhave a broken coupler. Many Whirlpool-made washers use a small, relatively inexpensive device called a motor coupling. Thisplastic-and-rubber component is mounted to the shaft of the motor onone side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the couplerwears out and fails. When that happens, you need to replace itcompletely.

Spin cycle Ifthe washer doesn't reach its proper spin speed, the clothes may be toowet at the end of a cycle. Check to be sure the load is properlybalanced and run a spin cycle again. If the clothes are still wet, youmay have a worn or loose belt (Maytag®), a worn clutch (GE®/Hotpoint®),or a worn motor pulley or tub bearing. Replace the applicablecomponent.

Alternatively, there could be clothes caughtbetween the inner and outer tubs. Read the "It spins but won't pump"section of the "It won't drain" section. Also, there could be otherthings that cause friction on the drive train. Seek the assistance of aqualified appliance repair technician.

Siphoning Ifthe water that pumps from the machine goes right back into the machineafter the spin cycle, it may be because your washer is siphoning thewater from a laundry tub with a slow drain, back into the washer. Tryto improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is there something stuckin the drain?) Also, be sure the drain hose doesn't reach more thanabout 4 inches into the laundry tub. If it does, cut off the excess.

Water-inlet valve Water-inletvalves eventually fail. One problem that may develop with a water-inletvalve is that it can no longer completely shut off when the electricityis turned off to it. Then, the valve may leak and drip water into theclothes tub--you may notice that your washer has water in it when youhaven't used it for a few days. To fix this, replace the valve.

Kenmore front load wet clothes

Before going further it is important to determine if the machine is reaching full spin. Make sure the unit is set to MAX extract and watch the inner tub. The tub should be spin really fast (1000 rpm's or better) during the final spin. If not you have lost one of the phases on the motor.

Washer spins but not enough to extract water from clothes or tub.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
