Question about Projection Televisions

2 Answers

I purchaded a Polaroid FCM-0700A (under counter mount combo TV/AV radio in December 2004 from Target. The unit was manufactured July, 2004. While watching TV the other day the picture just disappeared, while the sound continues to work fine. I live in Wichita, KS and am having a problem in finding anyone who will work on it.

Hello,

Maybe some loss connection inside the TV. The projection circuit that is connected to horizontal and vertical panel maybe lessen or can faulty parts on it. this will need a series of testing. This will require a professional repair man to personally troubleshoot the unit.

You can contact your vendor for more information about the service center of the unit or they cater repair in their store.

Or you can go to the manufacturer's website of the TV for support.

may this help,

Hey Ol' Fred...
One of my good friends is an ol Fred so I felt compelled to stop in and help!
I'm not sure of your setup, but if you've got a combo DVD/VHS unit, make sure that you have out puts to the TV for Both parts separately... You can designate by accessing the TV's onscreen menu and setting up a separate source for DVD and one for VHS. I've found on my projection TV that it's best to use the Coax cable connections for the VHS to TV.
Then once it's setup with separate hookups to the Tv, you should have audio and video for VHS...

DVD will load disc, repeated clicking noises, then informs me that there is no disk, and shuts down the DVD player.

Your best bet is to go to web site " ShopJimmy.com " enter your model number and see if they have the dvd mech. available. You just don't try and repair those, not only Polaroid, but all that have them 99% of the time can't be repaired. Happy Hunting!!

Sylvania TV

this is called a "collapsed" picture. it is normally a simple repair for a tv technician. simple for them but almost impossible for the average consumer. if the set is fairly new and not under warranty it might be worth your effort to take it to a tv repair place and get an estimate on the repair cost and go from there. if it is an old set it is time for a new one.
