Question about IBM ThinkPad G40 Notebook
The solution 1 is not correct. The graphics card on the g40 is either built into the system board or on a external card. If you have the external card kind yes you can change it. If you go to lenovo support you can get the hardware manual for g40/g41 and it tells you exactly how to do it.

Graphics cards on laptops cannot be changed or upgraded. In order to do this, I believe you have to change out the screen, because graphics cards in laptops are within the screens.
