Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

Reloading firmware on mp3 player

I erased firmware out of my player and was able to get a copy of it from creative, but i cant get my pc to reconize that it is even pluged in even though the player is charging and is says "docked" on its screen. can you help me fix this please?

    I have the same problem.I have 2 zen M 30 gb. players and erased firmware now when I connect them windows sees them but no the firmware tool,I also tried the mp3 player recovery tool several times,reset the players several times and still no success,I was wondering if there is another tool out there to make them work,or maybe it has something to do with the motherboard.thanks for the help

Try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.

My creative zen neeon hangs on creative logo what i can do?even it doesnt detects,then how can i format or reinstall the firmware?....plz help me....


try reseting it there should be a small pinhole on the back press and hold that for about 10 seconds if this wont work try putting it into recovery mode

    while plugging ur mp3 in ur comp, press the volume down or up key,n dnt release it.nw get in the firmware software and click on find device, now u can release the button. once it has found the device, u can now install the firmware.

    You will need to put the Zen into recovery mode and erase the firmware, then reload the firmware. Follow these steps:

    To Erase the Firmware:

    1. Get a paperclip and straighten it out.

    2. Hold down the Play/Pause button, and put the paperclip through the reset hole. Release the paperclip while continuing to press the Play/Pause button until you see the screen change.

    3. Select "Reload Firmware."

    To Load the new Firmware:

    Go to www.Creative.com/support --> downloads. Click through the navigation and download the latest Zen Touch firmware. Reboot your computer, then plug in your Zen via USB cable. Double-click the firmware icon and then click upgrade.
