Anyone out there that has a Magellan Maestro 3225 and was successful using it with Microsoft Streets & Trips 2006.
I purchased the Magellan GPS at Costco, it works well but I had the 2006 Streets & Trips from before and would like to use it with my notebook. The Streets & Trips is suppose to work with a GPS unit, just not having any luck with mine so far. Thanks much in advance.

Your battery is faulty, probably caused by the non tomtom charger.
Ring tomtom on 08451610009 as the unit is 6 months old and they will repair it free of charge. DON'T tell them about the other charger.
White lined screen is a battery problem

(3) If being short circuit, the battery charger will switch off itself, and turn normal after one or two minutes. (7)The operations are very convenient: Put the red clip to the positive pole of the accumulator which indicated "+", and put the black clip to the negative pole of the accumulator which indicated "-", then plug in power source, the accumulator will be charged.
If you have a tom tom from the GO models
they hace a reset button you can press with a pin were the mount fits.
When you plug in the charger the green light should come on to say it is chargeing.
Try the car adapter to charge the tom tom
mine too. Its brand new. Worked OK in my car for a couple of small trips, and unfortunately I didn't notice the lights status on the charger. Then lost satellite reception (not being charged at the time). Now red light on car charger and kept turning off/won't turn on. I have an old mains charger from garmin 660 which has a malfunctioning antenna and this 1490 was meant to replace ! Its charging now anddoes turn on, but no answer yet I'm afraid. I intend to register it with garmin and log a call with them. Also looking at the manual, it says there is a fuse in the head of the charger which should be checked. I haven't done this yet, but not sure if red light would be on if fuse had blown ?
if the light is on the bit that goes in cigar lighter in car then fault in unit or wrong charger being used, i f no light on charger the replace/check fuse in charger ( unscrew tip ) and or check cigar lighter working in car
Well this is a guess here. Are there any lights on the unit at all? when it was on the charger did it light the chatrge lights ( blinking). Try putting it back on the charger and seeing if it turns on while connected ( may take a few mins before it will) If it does turn on wjhen on charger I would suspect either the battery discharged instead of charged, or the battery collapsed. It needs to be sent for repairs.
If it is charging via a USB connection on your computer there is nothing wrong with the TT. It doesn't matter if you are trying to charge via USB, mains, or car charger the connection is the same for all in your TT. I would look elsewhere for the problem. More than likely your car charger is faulty.
We did not have a charger to plug in the GPS to charge, so my husband plugged it into a battery charger. I guess the battery charger was low, so it drained the unit rather than charging it. It was so low it would not come on again. I have an electric charger that adapts the car charger into AC current, so I tried that and the unit came on. Problem solved and the GPS is working again. Thanks for responding.
