I upgraded and now it says press "home" Where is that?

Hi,
It's the round button on the front. If it has a rounded rectangle printed on the front it is just a button. If there is nothing printed on it and it has a silver circle around it then this is a touchID button with finger print reading capability.

Finger print reader not working.....??????????????

@touchcoat

Try re-installing the following and reboot:

For Windows 7
1. Toshiba Fingerprint Utility (for Windows 7 (32/64) click here,
2. Upek Fingerprint Driver (for Windows 7 (32/64) click here,

For Windows Vista
1. Toshiba Fingerprint Utility here or here.

If above steps won't work, the issue is most likely a hardware issue. To make sure that it's not, I recommend trying to do a full system recovery (if you don't mind starting from scratch - turn the computer OFF, hold the 0 key then turn the computer ON).

If you still encounter the same issue, call Toshiba support and have the unit serviced at 1-800-457-7777 (for US) or 1-800-663-0778 (for Canada).

Good Luck.

Maybe IBM have some drivers but as XP is obsolete, they may not.

Operating Systems as supplied from new.
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Microsoft Windows Vista Business 32-bit and 64-bit
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005

Are you using XP Tablet Edition as that edition has the drivers for the features?

I am trying to Downgrade an ASUS R1F from Vista Pro to XP Pro. How do I get the tablet to boot from the CD

Hi, if you have computer knowledge, the easiest thing to do is to take the laptop sata hard drive out and connect it to your computer with your sata cables and power and boot your computer up and the laptop drive will be a slave drive then. Now you can back it up if you want and then format it.

Now turn your computer off and put the hard drive back in your laptop. Because there in no Operating system the laptop will ask for a boot device. Now you will be able to boot from your xp cd.

I don't know why but I have found most laptops and computers with vista don't like to boot from a cd and over ride the boot options and go directly into vista which makes it hard for people who want to down grade to XP.

Why someone would want Vista beats me.

You can also load up into bios and change your boot options in there. If not already set as first boot device to be you cdrom/dvd you can change it to be. But like I said most of the time with Vista it doesn't matter! Vista will still boot first. But it is worth trying.

I need to install an operating system on a Samsung q1 ultra

Suggest you use an external DVD drive, and put your installation disk in it. Then access the BIOS Setup utility.

In BIOS Setup, find the Boot Order menu. (Generally, along the top headings of the main menu, in BIOS Setup, or located in Advanced BIOS Settings) Set the first boot device to be CDROM. Be sure to Save your change.
This way the handheld, will boot from the installation disk, in your external DVD drive.

Should you be trying to downgrade from Vista to XP, you have to change the first boot device, in Boot Order to CDROM. If not, Vista won't let you overwrite it.
Vista is an upgrade over XP.
