My cd player won't play my cd's, and these codes come up. What do they mean and how do i fix them
When I try to play even hard copy cds, error 3 sometimes shows up. Other times the cd will play but there will be a rythmic scratching sound louder than the music itself. Almost like every time the cd goes around it makes a scraping sound. I've tried multiple hard copy cds and it does the same thing with all of them. Any suggestions?

Re: error code 6 & error code 4
Hi try first to insert a clean up CD, and test your Cd player with an original CD, if the problem persist , your laser sense is defficient you have to go to fix it to a specialist.
hope this helps you

The Clarion manual lists 3 error messages.
Error 2-A disk is caught inside the CD deck and is not ejected.
Error 3-A disk cannot be played due to scratches, etc.
Error 6-A disc is loaded upside-down and cannot be played.
Error 6 & 4 it means laser is not reading the disc and unforutunally you need to replace the pick up laser assy.
You can get it from pacparts.com,but I reccomend you to take to a proffessional tech because this is a "static sensitive" item.
Is this a "home burnt" CD? The code means CD ERROR #2.It is usually because the CD was written in a format the head unit can not play.If it is a studio CD. I would contact Panasonic and find out what code # 2 means.I had a code too because of what I said before but I do not remeber the # it was.
Mabye. I would suggest either opening the unit up and cleaning thr "laser" (optical pickup) with a q-tip. Or try using one of those cleaning cds that have the little cleaner fabric on the inderside...
if that doesent work something is most like wrong with the cd machanism wether its not spinning the cd or just not reading it due to a defective laser..
It could mean many things: the disc is inserted upside down, the disc is too scratched to play, too dirty to play, there might be condensation on the lens, mechanical failure, the list goes on.
If the disc is fine and inserted the correct way, and the error code keeps appearing, it typically indicates mechanical failure and that the CD player will need new parts and/or alignment to properly work again. I would suggest taking it to an authorized repair center.
