i mean just place it away somewhere away from the alluminium sliding.

Distance between transmitter & receiver is too far apart. The distance should not exceed 50', the closer to one another the clearer the reception.
" Check battery in transmitter (smaller box).
    " Check dipswitch settings.

if this solution helps u pls rate it as fixya to encourage us to solve more and more problems. good luck.

An access point is used to extend the signal.
Have you set it up by putting the MAC address of the WAP into the router and vsetting it up as a repeater?
Watvh this video:

After you setup the WAP correctly, the TV should pick up the signal.

I'm afraid you can't boost the sgnal from the router without buying a repeater/booster box.

You will get the best wireless performance from your router if it is in the highest position possible in the house - of course it may be impractical to move it but, if you can, then do so.

The only other option is to purchase a booster. I don't know what country you are living in, so I can't give definitive advice. You should try a search on google or ebay for "wireless router booster"

Everything is possible!

Did you try speaking with linksys directly? They can walk you through the troubleshooting online. Switching channels is an option in the wireless section of the router setup. See the documentation for more information.

Dlink dap 1522

I think I was having a similar problem with my DAP-1522 ... FW Version 1.10 being used as an access point. I recently discovered that I was not able to connect to the configuration pages using a web browser by typing in it's IP address (192.168.0.50). When I originally set this up device up on my network, it worked just fine, but at some point in time, it stopped working. My solution to this problem was to set the switch on the back of the 1522 from Auto to AP, then re-boot the DAP-1522 by removing power, waiting 10 seconds, then plugging power back in. Once the AP re-booted, I was then able to access the configuration login page by typing 192.168.0.50 into my browser. My DAP-1522 access point is connected via port 1 to my D-link router, a DGL-4100, via a DGS-2208, 8 port gigabit switch. Hope this helps!

Hi there

I think up to now you've been using someone else's Internet service, by picking up the signal wirelessly. You need your own Internet Service. You now connect your access point in the way the Internet Service Provider guide you. It is a different set up with cable (they provide a modem) or with BT (connection through your phone line).
