How to replace a belt successfully on a Bissel Powrforce 3522?
I just replaced a new belt. Style 7 belt. But when I turned on the vaccumn, my brand new belt broke, like 5 seconds after turned it on. It had this smokey smell. I guess I put the belt in wrong, how exactly do you put the belt in?

this is how you do it Lower handle and place vacuum on floor so you can see bottom of power head. Examine the power head to remember what it should look like when finished. Unscrew the four screws (Phillips screwdriver). Lift off cover. Lift out brush. Remove belt from brush and motor shaft. Place new belt around motor shaft, then around brush just prior to reinserting brush. Make sure the belt is placed correctly. Reinsert brush in slots. Rotate manually toward motor a few time to center the belt. Replace cover and screws. Tighten securely. Check cover to make sure it's properly secured.
See if the belt (that drives the bristles) if is loose or need replacement. The belts are located either on the left or right side of the bristle brush(you can locate it by putting the vacuum upright and see under the brushes). If it is loose or broken replace it(walmart has replacements for it or any hardware store)just bring the belt for the replacement number written on the belt,or know the brand and model number.
http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=618889&thid=789867 Vacuum is burning through the belt. Posted by slhb on Jul 16, 2008 I have replaced my Eureka Ultima Belt (with style U) and when I turn the vacuum on to use it, it immediately burns through the brand new belt and therefore does not work. I have tried three separate belts, but it does this each time. Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. According to what you have said I can see maybe 2 problems, either your brushroll or bearings are froze up or you have a build up of thread and hair on the bearing ends. The brushroll should be free spinning or #2. Your motor and pulley could be bound up and or shot and might need replacement. Check to see if the motor pulley spins freely and if it does then it almost has to be the brushroll and would need rebuilding or replacement. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.eureka.comCustomer Service Customer Service Dept1-800-282-2886 Electrolux Home Care Products P.O.
