Here's a site that sells the stirrer bar and the wingnut that holds it in place.

Did you find the piece to your popper? I just dropped mine on the floor and broke it, so if you still need that little piece, I have it.

Popcorn popper isn't popping popcorn

If it heats up, your popcorn may be old and dried out. If it doesn't heat up and the stirring rod does not turn, check your power cord for defects. Procedure: plug in the popper (check both ends of the cord!), turn it on, and gently wiggle the cord right at the plug or where it goes into the popper, and watch the stirring rod to see if it moves. If it starts and stops as you wiggle the cord, you've found the break in the cord. Repair it or replace it (West Bend lists it online for $5) and be more careful with the cord in the future (never unplug by yanking on the wire, always pull on the plug itself).

If the stirring rod turns and there is no heat, the thermostat or thermal fuse is probably open. This can happen in some poppers if the air vents are blocked on the bottom. Remove the obstruction from the vents, let everything cool off, and try again. If it does not heat up from a cold start, there may be a blown thermal fuse inside. If you decide to replace the thermal fuse or thermostat, it MUST have the same temperature and current rating as the original.

We lost the black knob that holds the metal piece inplace in the middle of the popper. How can we replace it?

This is most likely a proprietary part. I would contact the manufacturer and ask how much that part is. It might be way cheaper than getting a new popper.

The stirring rod fell off. How do I fix this?

The center hub is screwed on. With the popper cold, try unscrewing the center piece. The stir wire sits in a channel under the center piece.

We have a Back To Basics popcorn popper that has a broken piece. The piece is the clear see-through plastic top. Where can we find a new piece?

West Bend took over this company and no longer provides plastic window replacements. I fixed mine by super gluing the window and attaching a small strip of wood on top of the 2 plastic window pieces with small bolts (super glue pieces so wood can be properly attached because glue alone will not hold up to the heat). Not attractive but it works. (West Bend rep told me windows break because of high heat, but I only used mine over medium heat; I think they break at the spot where the raised lid hits the gear mechanism holder.)

Rod will not turn when popper is plugged in

I once tried to get parts for a West Bend popper with no luck. I just kept using it without the stirrer.

I would say from a pure economic standpoint, you're better off getting a new one. I don't know that one brand is any better than another -- it's just potluck from my experience.

Perhaps your problem like this?
When the kettle is popping popcorn, the metal rod with gear on the end pops out of place. Therefore, the kettle stops spinning and the popcorn burns.
>The allen screw that holds it in place need to be tighten.
