Refrigerator will not cool

Refrierator is just over a year old. My son raised the temp control to 70, now I cannot get the temperature to go back down. The freezer works fine. There is power, lights work, doors seal fine. the freezer works great but the refigerator won't go below 50. had the problem a month ago and tried unpluging it for 24 hrs. I also cleaned the coils. It worked fine for a while but the problem is back. Its a kenmore model 596

Adjusting freezer temperature

My name is Peter, retired Sears Home Services Tech. The freezer temp should be between 1 & -2 Deg. F, the fresh food section should be 35-40 Deg. F. I think you may have other problems if the unit does not hold temp. 70% of my service calls were either Samsung or LG. Samsung should stick with televisions.

Www frigidaire com MY FFHS2313LM6 the temperature is sky high and won't cool down.

Thank you for your post, friend!

I see your Frigidaire refrigerator is not cooling and you have performed a reset on your appliance by unplugging it. You could be experiencing an issue within your control panel or sealed system. I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional to come and diagnose your appliance for the proper repair. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

Our GE side-by-side refrigerator (model GS225) is not cooling. Freezer is at 55 degrees and the refrigerator is at 70 degrees. The fan condensor in the back was dirty so we cleaned it. Could that be the...

Check the compressor relay. All fans should be running when the compressor is except during post dwell. In post dwell the compressor and fan con on but the inside ones do not come on for a specified time. SEE ADC how it works.
You can use the diagnostics found in this GSS SERVICE MANUAL

My 7 year old GE Profile Side by Side will not get

Self Diagnostics
To enter Self Diagnostic mode, both temperature control panel displays must be illuminated. A display
can be illuminated by pressing an adjacent temperature adjustment button. When both displays are
illuminated, set the freezer and refrigerator temperature settings to 5. Simultaneously press and hold all
4 temperature adjustment buttons for approximately 3 seconds. A flashing 0 in the refrigerator and
freezer displays will indicate that the refrigerator is in Self Diagnostic mode.

For temperature control panels with single-digit displays, the COLDER temperature adjustment button
will increment the numbers up and the WARMER temperature adjustment button will increment the
numbers down. Use the freezer temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the
freezer display. Use the refrigerator temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in
the refrigerator display. When a test code has been entered, the displays will flash to confirm the test.
Press the HOLD button for 3 seconds to begin the test.
For temperature control panels with 3-digit displays, the COLDER temperature adjustment button will
increment the numbers down and the WARMER temperature adjustment button will increment the
numbers up. Use the freezer temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the
freezer display. Use the refrigerator temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the refrigerator display. When a test code has been entered, the displays will flash to confirm the test
code. Press any button other than a temperature adjust button to begin the test.
When testing has been completed, do one of the following things:
• Enter code 1 5 to completely reset the system.
• Enter code 1 6 to exit diagnostic mode. GSS manual

Refrigerator will not cool

Do you mean the display won't go below 70 or that the actual temps won't go below 70? First try to unplug the refer for 20-30 seconds then plug it back in. Hopefully that will reset the levels to factory settings (usually around 0 for freezer and 36 for refer).
