Sorry for delay, just back from vacation...
The pictures look like you have white retrace lines which indicate that
all the colors are working. No picture would indicate there is either
no video signal present or the video processor is not functioning. If
the set has an RCA video input try connecting a video game or other
composite video source (remember to set the tv to the aux or video
input). If you then get a picture the processor is working and the
problem may lie in the conversion of the over-air video signal. If you
get no picture with any input type I would suspect the video processor
chip (probably the largest chip on the board). See if you can find a
Datasheet for the chip and check the voltage input(s). If the chip (or
any chips) get excessivly hot they would also be suspect.

I would have to say, after a diligent search of drivers (or ANYTHING for that matter) for your specific device (Mashita UJ-845D), the above quote loudly rings true. I encountered nothing but a void in my search as well.
