Try bypassing the surge protector and plugging it directly into the wall.

Canon pixma mg5220 will not turn on

When you have sparks it toasts the chips even a good teck will ground themselves before opening a peice of equipment like that. I'm sorry to say but I doubt very seriously if either piece of equipment will work. I would also get rid of the surge protecter and have that outlet looked at.

Printer will not turn on, checked adaptor it lights until i plug it into printer

Hi Gary Brooks, I would be happy to do all I can to help you with your C6280. I understand it will not turn on, and the adapter light is illuminate until you connect the cable to the printer. Please review the following document to ensure you have completed all of the necessary troubleshooting;

Also, do you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector
In this document you will see, ISSUE: Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector

I hope this helps. I work on behalf of HP.

Why printer cant get power. is there a reset button. has the power save button got something to do with it .

I doubt that the fuses built into the machine to protect it somewhat from major power surges have blown although it is possible. First thing to check is that the power socket you use is ok. Try plugging another device into it like a lamp and see if that works. If it does then that is ruled out. Then check the power cord you use is ok. Try plugging in your printer to another power cable you know works (such as your desktop power cable) and turn it on. If it works then replace the cable. If it still is not working then it will be internal to the printer. Time to replace the printer. This time however be sure to get a surge protector for your printer (the device regulates power running through it and will even out any small surges and completely stop any major surges. The more you spend on the surge protector the better it is and generally the higher the insurance coverage is for devices using it if they are damaged.

We had a power outage, now pixma Mx410 won't come on, any ideas?

Is pinter plugged into a power strip? Try plugging directly into wall. Make sure wall outlet is working correctly, try another item in plug in. Does printer have a power module or brick that is plugged into printer? That power module is there to protect your printer during a power surge, it may need to be reset. Is there a light on that brick or power module? If so, does it light up? If not, could be a bad power module. There is no such thing as "reset" button, so don't look there...It will have to be reset in a series of ways for an "external" module.
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
  3. If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, disconnect the cord from the power module.
  4. Wait 15 seconds.
  5. If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, reconnect the power cord to the power module.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  7. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
  8. Check to see if the power module or the power cord has an indicator light and if it is on
For an internal module:
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
  3. Wait 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  5. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
  6. Check to see if the power module has an indicator light.
Not sure if this will help you..but worth a try.....

I HAVE A BROTHER MFC7345N WHICH WAS PLUGGED IN WHEN A POWER SURGE OCCURED. NOW THE PRINTER WON'T TURN ON.

youre printer mainboard just got fried. you are going to have to buy a new printer, unless the printer is still under warranty. did you cause the power surge? and did you have your printer plugged into a surge protector strip? remember these things when you go to buy a new printer, get a surge protector strip. not the cheap kind, those arent surge protectors. those are outlet additions.

I have the same problem error message 0x886a789e

The surge has blown up the chipset that produces the signals required for faxes.

If you have a surge protector fitted then the maker should repair or replace the printer under their terms of warranty.

If they sell you protection then they have to offer it

Power issue

Sounds like your power supply may be shot on your computer. You can get a power supply tester and check it. Not sure what to do about the printer. If you had a surge protector in between your computer and ac. Plug the computer and printer back in to the AC outlet directly and see if that helps. Hopefully only your surge protector is damaged.

Please rate, Thanks.

Hp t65 error code

Step-1: Connect the All-in-One directly to power outlet
--------------------------------------------------------------

The surge protector may not supply sufficient power to the printer. To isolate the issue please remove the power plug of the printer from the surge protector and connect it to the wall jack directly.

Being a All-in-One Machine it needs full voltage to be supplied while initializing Surge protectors supply suppressed voltage to the printer which leads to unexpected issues in the printer

After performing the steps, please perform the steps below.

Step-2: Power Cycle the All-in-One
---------------------------------------

Follow the steps below to power cycle your all-in-one:

1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Disconnect the USB/Ethernet cable from the All-in-One and also disconnect power cable from All-in-One and also from wall outlet.

2. Wait 30 seconds.

3. Plug in the power cable to All-in-One and also to wall outlet.

4. Check for the functionality.

After performing the above steps if issue persists, please perform the below steps.

Step-3: Reset to Factory defaults
-------------------------------------

A partial reset will return user settings to factory defaults. On some models, language and country/region settings are also reset. Perform a partial reset of the product by following the instructions below.
  1. Unplug the power cord from the unit.
  2. Do the following according to your specific product:
    • HP Officejet G55 and G55xi series: Press and hold Minus ( - ) and 3 while plugging in the power cord.
    • HP Officejet G and K series:
    • Press and hold # and 3 while plugging in the power cord.
    • HP Officejet T series: Press and hold * and 8 while plugging in the power cord.
    • HP PSC 700 series: Press and hold Cancel and the Left Arrow while plugging in the power cord.
  3. While still holding the buttons down, plug the power cord back in. Release the buttons after the all-in-one begins to initialize. After RESET displays and the printer goes back to a ready state, the reset is complete.
  4. Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.
