Question about Heating & Cooling

NOT COOLING I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE UNIT. I HAVE WARM AIR BLOWING INSIDE, BUT WHEN I GO OUTSIDE TO CHECK THE UNIT THE FAN ON THE UNIT IS NOT RUNNING. I CHECKED THE BREAKER TO SEE IF IT WAS TRIPPED, BUT IT WAS FINE. I WENT BACK TO THE UNIT AND GOT REAL CLOSE TO IT. I CAN HEAR A LOW HUM NOISE AS IF POWER IS GOING TO IT, BUT THE FAN ON THE UNIT IS NOT TURNING. I PLACED MY HAND ON THE TOP CENTER OF THE UNIT, AND IT WAS REAL WARM. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. NEED HELP

Why is my Weather King A/C Model #10AJA4201 not cooling house? Fan blows warm air. What is problem?

check the outside unit to see if it is running. If its not check the run cap which is the big silver round object. Make sure you are getting 240 volts to the contactor;

The air conditioner was working today i have a RUUD UAKA018JAZ, the fan is running however it is not blowing cold air out the vents

Hi, your problem is in the unit outside. Check to see if the fan is on, make sure the compressor is running also. If nothing is on, check the breaker to see if it tripped. Also, the box at the unit has 2- fuses inside behind the plastic cover you can't see unless you remove it. If the unit is off and the breaker was ok, remove the cover and replace BOTH fuses. Do all of this and let me know. If the breaker keeps tripping or blowing fuses if the unit was off, you have a componant shorted. It may be off or on and not cooling well due to a loss of freon. If it is on, hold your hand above the fan to feel the air. It should be nice and warm almost hot if its hot outside. Let me know what you find please. We can find the problem.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

Cold air blows outside and hot air inside

Make sure it is in cooling mode. Sounds like you may have a problem with the reversing valve but you would want to check the pressures in the system first and make sure the charge isn't low.

Just blowing air not cooling, outside unit doesn't seem to be working but inside just blowing air

First off, check power:disconnect box outside may have fuses,then check power at fuse box.If you have power(220 volts) then check for 24 volts at T-stat line.Also, make sure T-stat is set to A.C.With power on go outside and listen to condenser unit.If fan is rotating listen for humming .If it is not running, it could be a bad contactor or a bad or capacitor .If it is running check after 5+ minutes if warm air is coming out of the outside unit.Also, wash the condenser unit:start by spraying the hose about 45 degrees downward ,going side to side,and down on all sides.Do Not use High pressure hoses,it will bend coil fins.After it runs for about an hour,or so, go out and see if low pressure line(big one) is sweating and cool, and high pressure line (small line) is warm.

AC BLOWS WARM AIR

Cooling comes from what is done outside, if air handler is blowing and you are hearing a sound , may be in the duct work. If you feel warm air in cooling mode then the outside unit is the prob, need more info

Uotside unit blowing cool air but hot on the inside

It sounds like you have a unit called a heat pump. When a heat pump unit is in cooling mode the outside unit blows hot air and the inside unit blows cold air. If the outside unit is blowing cold then the indoor unit is most likely blowing room temperature or warm air. It sounds like the thermostat could be controlling incorrectly or you could have a failed reversing valve which is the device that switches the unit from heating to cooling mode.
