The letters move very slowly and **** as they move.

My text twist game is not working correctly. I loaded an updated version of Java, thinking that might be the problem, but it is still extremely slow with the letters taking a long time to move when clicked. I am using the free web version. This just started yesterday, as it had always worked well before. What could be the problem?
