Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3
I ran over my Razr and damaged the LCD. I replaced the LCD/camera/ear speaker/ assembly with one out of an older Razr V3. Now I can make phone calls, ear speaker works, side buttons work but the screen is black. I have connected the cable several times to make sure I have a good connection but still can't get anything on the screen.
Just becausae the cable size is the same doesn't mean that the pin-out is the same. The display needs to be the correct one. It is quite possible that the displays are similar, but the pin assignments are different. This can be confirmed if you look at the numbers on the actual displays. You will most likely find that many of the numbers are the same. It is common for "upgraded" products to also contain upgraded parts. In other words, the display has been slightly modified to provide some slight new feature that the old one couldn't handle. This new pin-out forces the use of the new displays.
