Question about Dishwashers
Hi, i went to use my new dishwasher last night and it washed the dishes but when it came to drain error programe E4 flashed and we had a flood. We have since found out the plumber forgot to remove the bung from under the sink!! We emptied the dishwasher by jug and have come to use it again and wont dissapear from the screen and we cant use any programme.
I have a Kenwood Kdw8st2a and have been constantly plagued by the E4 overfill error.
Lifting the front of the dishwasher and tilting it backwards seemed to clear the E4 error only for it to come back after the next wash.
I found eventually that the connection to the U bend under the sink was too narrow and was almost blocked hence the dishwasher was not emptying properly.
I disconnected the dishwasher waste pipe and ran the waste into a bucket for about 6 cycles and it worked fine.
Eventually drilled through the kitchen wall and fitted a lower direct waste pipe to the drain. Overkill maybe buit it hasn't done an E4 since.

The dishwasher has a float switch in the base so if any water is still in there it wont work try tipping it on its side or back to get the remaining water out before resetting
