Question about Kenmore 40494 / 40495 / 40499 Electric Single Oven

1 Answer

F0 display error

The oven display is saying F0 and flashing locked Door. I can hit the start button and it shuts off for a minute, and then starts beeping again. The door opens, but I'm not sure why it's doing that. I haven't tried unplugging it yet though.

Ok fo is a communications error and can be in three places the manuel says replace the eoc but ive found that's not always accurate if this is a free standing or slide in range you can pull it out and remove the back top and bottom when the oven goes in self clean the door switch has two functions when the door is open it tell the clock that the door is open and the door latch motor and it turns on the oven light when the door is closed it turns off the oven off and tells the clock and latch motor the door is closed it does this by two micro switches on the latch motor one for closed one for open by means of a plastic cam on the latch motor now if you have self cleaned the range lately then the door locked micro switch may have stuck when the cam rotated back to the unlocked position and with both switches closed the eoc wont let the oven work because it thinks that its in self clean also ive seen mice build nests on the platform that the motor is mounted on and pile insulation on the closed switch and close it that way so you got the door switch the latch motor switches or the mylar ribbon that goes into the eoc its self could be dirty now on the clock or eoc there is a little lock tab at the bottom of the ribbon that you pull up and release the ribbon and gently clean the ribbon and replace it now when testing the switches with a ohm meter you must remove one wires from the switches to prevent getting a false Reading if all this fails then replace the clock now you can call a repairman but most like they will replace the clock without checking the other stuff now is this a free standing range also some where on the range will be a tech sheet with wiring diagram ans stuff it will help you is this a freestanding range or a slide in as componets are located in different places if you need more help reply to me

Hit "bake" or "broil" button and temp setpoint

Hi

This Error indicates a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Pushed the clean button, the oven locked, and the screen started beeping and flashing f9 or f7. I hit cancel, and the oven is still locked and the clean button is sill flashing.... It has been 10 hrs!

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

Could be a stuck keypad. Try pressing all pads at random several times each to clear it.
If that does not work the ERC(clock) must be replaced.

GE JGBP80 oven shuts off and the locked door light flashes

That's awesome! I just found this site on Christmas day minutes away from family arriving and I had exhausted the manual for help. Under the troubleshooting section of the manual it lists "door Locked" light blinking as a problem with the only solution being - "shut the door." With three dishes in the oven that didn't help!

I took the advice of the site and wiggled the actual door lock on the inside of the oven and that didn't work right away either.

I had to trick the oven into thinking the door was shut by pressing the sensor on the right hand side in and then turn on the oven cleaning cycle with the sensor held down. After the lock activated and moved across with the door open, I had to hold down the door unlock feature and wiggle the lock as it unlocked. A little more complicated, but none the less it worked!

It must be a sensor inside the locking mechanism that isn't reading the lock being open - or something...

Amana EvenAir Convection Plus Self Cleaning Oven will not unlock.

My oven was locked and would not open. No lock light was on but the oven was clearly locked. F9 error when I hit certain buttons.

Try this. I unplugged the oven for about 5 minutes. Plugged back in. A LOCK light came on. Held down "Oven Cancel" for a few seconds. Door opened and lock light went off. No more F9 error when I hit those buttons.

F0 error - My GE Over displays an F0 error & constantly beeps

Appu, the F0 error for this built in means there is a shorted or stuck off key. Sometimes this can be resolved by removing the keypad ribbon cable from the board and cleaning the ends with an eraser. If that doesn't work, you want to find out whether its the board or keypad by ohming the ribbon cable, 3 to 4, probes on the conductor side...should read 125 to 1750 ohms while pressing the off key. Catriver..post back.
