How to repair word document

Hi

I have overwrite the windows, so i lost my documents in the old,so i recovered using third party software and I recovered the document,but when I try to open it,its corrupted and I am not able to open it.Can I recover it.

    I have the same problem. Tried various recovery tools. Can recover the files with their original names and sizes, but when you try to open them, the content appeared corrupt. Will appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks.

I used many different programs for like troubles. But nearly dozen of them couldn't assist me. Probably only the next software would become effective for me and in this situation too. I by chance dug up it at a soft forum - how to repair corrupted word document.

No it isnt possible... recovery software just recover files that it can find the starting of.... it wouldnt have any idea whether the middle parts or end of the document is corrupted due to your new installations....
