Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook

1 Answer

Unidentified network I can't connect to my office network it kept saying unidentified network when I did connect and limited capability. And so I got on the phone with Dell thinking it was my card but No dell confirmed my computer was working fine. I can connect at home but not when I get to the office. The Dell guy said to enable my office network, turn off the router for 10 secs and now I can't even see the wireless network at all. Any idea's I?m desperate.

Your office network is probably hidden you will need to change the settings on the router. Talk to your Net Admin about it.

Additional network Vista after

Hi Friends..

The Problem is seem because you are using LAN Port and your Wifi also on.and its finding and connecting any other open network near is you home or office. but its not connected (may the IP address or other security reason) so its showing Limited connectivity.

So the solution is your problem.if your are using LAN port then switch of you Wifi network.

If you install any other VPN or client connecting software then uninstalled that one.

It connects to my wireless router as unidentified but can't connect to internet. limited connectivity.

I did have the same issue. I got it sorted out with the online help from TheBestPcDoctor. My issue was due to the router firewall and the Antivirus product firewall conflicting. The support person did identify and fixed all my issues. If you need, you can contact them @

Unidentfied network is connected, no internet access, i see a chair between the internet acces and the laptop. tried to reboot everything several times, turned off firewalls, nothing helps/

That unidentified network, have you connected to that before and browsed the internet? Just because you connect to a network, doesn't mean that network is setup to allow internet access. It could be a simple fact that you need to connect to a different network.

Can not connect to wireless router just saying unidentified network it says there is full signal but will not connect to internet

Is it your router password protected?
try unplugging the wireless router in the house and holding the reset button on the back to set it back to default settings.

Leave the route open to see if it connects then. else update the drivers for your laptop and also may have to update the firmware for your router. all can be found on the manufactures websites.
