On/off Hey there, I have a Mot. Talkabout 250 that won't turn on because the round on/off dial won't engage when turned. Is there something I can do myself? Thanks, Kevin

How do you stop the beeps after pushing PTT button?

We have been unable to locate a manual for the TalkAbout 250, but have one for the T280, which is one generation newer. Here is a link: http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T280_User_Manual.pdf

The instructions say to hold the monitor button in while turning on the radio to turn the Alert Tones on/off.

Best regards.

Have Talkabout 250 and want to turn off the beeping. any ideas

The following instructions are for the T289, which is very similar to the T250. It is possible they will work to turn off your beeps.

Alert Tones

The Alert Tones (beeps) on the Talkabout radios are set at a fixed volume

level and cannot be lowered. However, Alert Tones can be disabled. When

Alert Tones are disabled, the radio will receive messages at the volume

setting you've selected, but you will not hear beeps when you press control

buttons.

Disabling Alert Tones:

1. Hold down the Monitor button while you turn radio on.

2. To re-activate Alert Tones, turn the radio off, then on again while holding
the Monitor button down.

How do I remove the belt clip from the Motorola talkabout 250 ? - thanks

The belt clip snaps into the slot at the top of the radio. To remove it, turn the radio to face you and slip a small screw driver gently into under the front of the belt clip, and then push it toward the back of the radio. They sometimes fit rather tight. Use care not to damage the radio or the clip.

Best regards.

I lost one of the hand sets - is it pssible to

The TalkAbout line of radios operate on the same 14 FRS/GMRS frequencies. If you purchase another model TalkAbout they can talk with one another. Here is a link to the Motorola TalkAbout Store http://www.store.motorola.com/mot/en/US/adirect/motorola?cmd=catDisplayStyle&catKey=601700

Motorola FV200R Talkabout dosent turn on

Yes, it is likely you need new battery packs. The Li-Ion batteries have a 12-18 month life expectancy. They will sometimes go longer if the radios are charged and depleted at least once a month. This style battery should be available from your local Motorola dealer on online at Motorola. http://www.store.motorola.com/mot/en/US/adirect/motorola?cmd=catDisplayStyle&catKey=601560

1999 ttr 250 starter motor is not engaging

I would guess it is the starer clutch, also called the one way clutch. I went on to www.bikebandit.com and looked up your bike and it has a nice exploded veiw of your starter clutch . I will try to put a direct link to it , hopefully it will take you to it. http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/yamaha-motorcycle-tt250rl-1999/o/m7707
if not go put in your bike and look under starter clutch.
