If you look carefully you should see a small allen head screw on the needle clamp assembly. There should be a J shaped part which goes into a hole on the bottom of the assembly. Reassemble everything, put the assembly back on the needle bar and tighten the screw with an allen wrench.

I have the same problem but it still will not stay on. Maybe the screw is broken or stripped so I guess I just need to replace it. What is it called?

How to position the needle

The needle will rise in the holder in only one direction. If you would turn it in any other direction it go up in the holder. Most needles have the flat part in the back or on the right side. Old black Singers is reversed where the needle has the flat part on the left.

How do i remove the needle clamp assembly from bernina 1090?

Remove the needle bar clamp screw. From the back side of the needle clamp holder, remove the small needle stop screw. The clamp can then be slid down off the end of the needle bar. You may have to swivel the clamp back and forth as you slide it down in order to remove it. Some clamps are fairly tight.

I want to know how to fix thread from top to needle

Always start from the thread spool pin, install your thread spool to the spool pin & put on the spool holder, pull end of thread to go thru the top thread guide then down to the tension disc(follow the arrow pointer if there is),up to the thread take up lever arm from left to right and down to the needle thru the needle clam guide(just below its needle clam screw)then enter the needle eye from front to back. Turn your hand wheel towards you to bring needle bar down into the bobbin case, keep turning till needle comes fully up, pull out your top thread end & this should bring up the bobbin thread then you be ready to sew.

make sure that the needle was put in the needle holder correctly and tightened into the needle holder correctly..
if the needle was in the needle holder correctly and it's still hitting the bobbin carrage then the machine needs to be checked to see if the sewing machine needs a adjustment

How to change the needle holder on Bernina 160

1.) Remove the screw that holds the needle in. Remove needle.

2.) Gentle pry the thread guide clip off of the needle holder. There is a guide and a small flat spring, do not loose those.

3.) Remove the needle height pin. These pins are available in several different sizes and need to be set correctly.

4.) Remove the holder assembly.

5.) Reverse procedure to assemble with the new needle holder.

This really should be done by a Bernina dealer that has the proper parts.

Brother sewing machine model XL-6562.needle holder came off rod.n

The needle holder has a screw right above the screw that holds the needle in place. It really doesn't look like a screw because it does not appear to have a slot for a screwdriver. However, with a small flat head screw driver you can tighten it up. There is also a curverd wire that must be inserted into a slot at the bottom of the holder. The screw tightens against the wire that tightens against the post. (It's a curved wire that curves around the front part).

Needle will not pick up the bobbin thread, gets tangled when stitching. My user manual shows a little clip/rod to hold bobbin thread in place, my bobbin holder does not have one. It is brand new,...

Oh boy! I've worked on industrial sewing machines for over 30 years, but the home sewing machines are like comparing cadillacs to mopeds. No offense, but if you want performance out of a machine try an industrial. It will shock you with the difference. Be glad to help you find the right one.
Anyway, the problem you are having is quite common. First, make sure it is threaded right especially the moving spring on the needle thread tension) and the needle is new. This generally covers 75% of the problem. Make sure the bobbin thread is threaded correctly.
If you are still having the problem remove the bobbin/bobbin case and observe the needle/hook point relationship as you turn the handwheel. The hook point should pass behind the needle at the scarf of the needle (indention just above eye of needle) If it is not so the needle bar may have moved up on you. Did the machine get jammed?
I'm not sure about the rod you're talking about but lets try this first.
