Question about Xerox Phaser 8560MFP Laser Printer

Xerox Phaser 8560 mfp Printing issue

Our Printer has recently been smearing/smudging on every page that we print lately. Its as though parts of the previous page gets carried onto the next page we print, leaving marks when we really don't want them. Any ideas on what might be causing this or ways to fix it would be greatly appreciated!

My problem is very similar and I just replaced the maintenance after following all the other solutions, ie: cleaning the old maintenance kit and running the cleaning cycle. My page count is way below kit replacement recommendation (-6000 pages). Is there anything else I can do or is it time to call for service?

That really sounds like you need to replace the maintenance kit.
The white roller most likely is black and has depleted itself of lubricant a bit prematurely.

Oh yeah. you can go into the troubleshooting area and run the cycle that removed smudges and smears.

that will run the maintenance kit against the drum to clean and lubricate it.

I still suspect the maintenance kit should be replaced.

here is how you run that.

    1. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button on the Control Panel to select [Troubleshooting] on the Display Screen, and then press the [OK] button.
    2. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Print Quality Problems], and then press the [OK] button.
    3. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Remove Print Smears], and then press the [OK] button. The printer will clean the ink from the rollers by running several sheets of paper through the printer.
    4. If the smears are still displayed, repeat steps 1 through 3 up to three more times.

ok ok try this too ...

    1. Open the door on the right side of the printer.

    2. Grasp the maintenance kit (labeled A) from the maintenance kit slot and pull the kit completely out of the printer.

    3. Use a lint-free cloth to clean the top and upper edges of the flexible plastic wiper blade located next to the roller.

    4. Re-install the maintenance kit and push the kit completely into the maintenance kit slot.
    5. Close the door.

Shadow Printing on a xerox Phaser 8560. Have changed the Maint Roller and done the various cleaning cycles

The printer requires a maintenance kit. (95% chance anyways)
I would suggenst the extended life maintenance kit (10,000 page lifespan) part number 108R00676 to correct this issue.
You can usually get these where you get your solid ink cartridges.

Printing from wrong tray

I suffered from the same problem for a long time. We got Xerox Phaser 8550 and 8560 here. I choose on computer "tray 2" but the printer just print from tray 1 which is empty.

Today i figured it out! It's some configuration at the printer. So go to "Paper tray setp" -> "Tray 1 mode" and "Tray 2 mode" -> change to "static".

I figure it's like this. Before it was "dynamic", it probably means the printer decides it's better to use tray 1 even though you choose tray 2 - and this decision is stupid. Changing it to "static" fixes this.

Let me know whether this works for you too!

My xerox phaser 8560 is printing muted color

First off on your screen access troubleshooting, and perform the remove light strips and also remove smears and skips.
Next go to Xerox.com, under support and drivers enter 8560 in the search box. then go to the support page.
You want to look up the procedures for TEC color correction. And follow those steps.
If you are using a generic ink then, all bets are off in getting true color reproduction.

Phaser 8560 not printing RED correctly

Even though Media Sciences ink is not compatable and is subject to burning and clogging your printhead, the most telling symptom you listed is the red shavings. This indicates the ink is not releasing from the drum properly. This version of solid ink has a problem with the cams on the maintenance camshaft cracking and this causes the maintenance kit roller to not oil the drum properly. You will also hear an odd noise either grinding, groaning or a slight tearing sound. This requires a technician to resolve as replacing the camshaft is not an enduser job. Print quality issues are either the printhead or related to the camshaft failing, there are a few others but they wouldn't exhibit the symptoms you listed.

Blurry Printing

Quite possibly, your Wave Amp board has failed. If so, it is more cost effective to purchase a new printer than to repair yours unless you can find used parts.

Currently, Xerox is offering a trade-up rebate on new solid ink printers.

What you can try is shut down the Machine and unplug the powercord and unscrew the cable next to the powercord.
It's from the scanner.
after that reconnect both cable's and turn it back on.

Xerox Phaser 8560 Waste INk

Although I agree totally, the anwer is no. Althought it appears black, take a piece of it an use it like a crayon. It is a combination of all the color inks combined. So if you take and rub it on a piece of paper it will be a purple color. So threfore would not create proper colors.
Now to save ink, Do not turn the printer off at all. Just let it use its own sleep mode. The power consumption is intermittent to keep the print head warm and uses about the same ammount of electricity as your refridgerator light bulb. The reason being, when you turn off a solid ink printer, it purges the print head of ALL old ink and dumps it into the waste tray. That is part of those weird noises you hear when you cycle up the machine, one is a compressor emptying the print head.
Also, honestly, althogh I am not sure what you are using the machine for. But you would be wise to put that product on a pay per page maintenance agreement. That includes all ink and all service. Some of the parts for those printers are super expensive.
I will say one thing you can do with that waste ink, if you know anyone who has children, they can use them as purple crayons..
