Though Palm PDAs are considered "legacy" by their new "supporters", HP, there is a download site for your Tungsten. Note that while HP seems to have forgotten that there was an "E", and only mention the E2, the Palm Support Palm Tungsten E2 Palm Desktop 4 1 4 and HotSync Manager... download should work... providing you are using the right OS on your computer. XP is listed in your owners manual, Vista usually works, Win7 is really dicey unless you bought one of the reconditioned/customized Tungstens that have become available over the internet lately, and win 8 might really become a deal-breaker. Good luck!
Here is a link for the software you need. Download it to your desktop and then do a hotsync to your palm. Best wishes. If this doesn't help the second link is for the free palm chat feature. Scroll to the bottom where it says Palm chat and then click on the link that says chat now. Best wishes.
The Palm Desktop (installed on your computer) should have all the information that is currently on it. Make sure that you sync before moving on.
On the tungsten, there will be a version of the palm desktop (updated) for it. Just install that version, it will find your old version, and import from there. PalmDesktop 6 supports Vista, unknown how well it will work as a 32bit app being emulated in 64bit environment.
