my oster 12 bottle wine chiller has stopped cooling as well. we have had it two weeks. it was set at 53 and was holding at 54... i left for an hour... and it had gone up to 65. investigation of the situation indicated that the fan had stopped running.

I got my Oster wine cooler for my birthday in February, 2008. I noticed last week that the temp. went up to 70 degrees and now is up to 80 and has not come down. It's only 7 months old and it's clear the fan stopped working. Sounds like a lot of other people are having the same problem with this product.

Our's did the same thing. I contacted warranty & followed their instructions. It's been months & no refund. I called the # on my warranty card & it isn't a working number now. Does anyone have a different # than 866-866-6283? What a rip off.

My wine cellar fan also stopped working. If anyone knows hoew to solve ths or where to call for warranty I would appreciate it

After about a couple months the temperature display lights started going out one by one. Then after 10 months or so the fan died on me too. It sounds like the Oster wine coolers have a lot of problems, that's why they are so cheap. I went to Best Buy and the manager gave me 10% off on a Vinotemp. 200 bucks, but you get what you pay for.

Do not bother trying to contact the company which made the unit they are being indigted on fraud. The good thing is that there is a simple solution to your problems. Replace the small fuse under the electric shrink wrap. This fuse is located near the red and green led lights on the electronic panel in the back of the unit. Replace with a 6.3 or 7 amp 250 volt fuse 3 x20mm , which can be found at Radio Shack. You will need to know how to solder in order to replace. All total cost to replace the fuse is about $3.00 and a half an hours time. The unit works great now, I paid another $3.00 to put in an inline fuse holder for the future when this fuse blows, if it does.

you need to replace the fan at the back of the unit. no noise means the fan is not working. The fan removes the heat from inside the unit to cool it. no fan, no cool. Your local appliance repair can fix it. the fan does not cost much and there isn't much labor involved. If you want to tackle it yourself then take your model number to the appliance store and order a fan, remove the back and replace the fan. Some fans are plug and play, some are not. if yours is not plug and play then you will have to splice wires. either way, the fan is your problem.

Wine cooler does not get cool - fans do not run the light and temperature display do work

if you hear the compressor tun on but not the fan, replace the fan and you may have to defrost the evaporator coils. if the compressor does not turn on either, it's the thermostat, the defrost timer, or a relay on the main board.

Wine Cooler Does NOT get cool.

Here is the web site to locate your closest oster service center. They should be able to tell you what their charge will be up front so that you can compare that charge to the cost of a new one.

Now days, sadly, many of these items are too costly to repair so they go to the landfill..

Fan doesn't work on oster wine cellar

First question, do you have power to the unit and the cooling fan is not working? If this is the problem then sounds like one of the two fuses in back panel has burnt out.

The fan does not go on

Ther are two fuses in back panel of unit. One fuse can be seen other is hidden top left of panel and is coated in black shrink rap. I had to replace that fuse to correct the problem. Problem is I had to cut away shrink rap and resolder another fuse, you may have to have someone who can do this look at your uint. Hope this helps.

Fast start option does not work

I'm not sure how you ended up under this classification;
All Products > Oster > 12-Bottle Wine Cellar - Black > Troubleshooting

but your problem with an undescribed brand and model will not likely ever get a response.
I think your question is in regards to a microwave oven. Try reposting it with the correct brand and model #.
