when you turn the unit on hit Alt+F10. This will access the acer recovery partition from which you can restore. This is provided you didn't replace the Hard drive or wiped the drive yourself
If you're talking about the operating system not loading since you've newly reformatted, I'm guessing that you didn't actually reformat it correctly. I recommend running your recovery discs again in order to get it working properly.
If you're talking about some sort of hardware malfunction, but the computer is booting up correctly, then its probably a simple driver problem. Visit your manufacturer website and download/install the latest drivers..as well as updating your OS.
Download the driver for the camera. You can find it in the website of compaq. Just provide the site with the needed information so that you can get the right driver for your camera. Choose the driver which is compatible with your current operating system.

I have no magic solutions for this problem, and I?m guessing you?ve already tried what I?m going to suggest, but if not maybe you should try that:
1. are you using a laptop? The card you?re using might be a Cardbus, which usually isn?t supported by laptops because of BIOS settings.
2. It might also be a driver problem. Disconnect the card, remove it, remove the drivers. Restart the computer and reinstall the drivers. Turn the computer off. Reconnect the card and only then turn the computer on again. Wait a few minutes (sometimes it takes a few minutes for the computer to recognize new software). I don?t know if it would work, but it?s worth giving a shot.
