Question about Computers & Internet
I have symantec antiviruscorporate edition on my old laptop, i wanted to install the sameprogram onto my new laptop, i do not have the cd, so i went intoc:program files located the symantec antivirus folder and theSymantec_Client_Security folder, in other words the complete programwhich was installed from the cd. I then copied these files onto myflash drive then copied them to the program files on my new laptop, once on my new laptop i tried to locate the setup or install shieldfile, but can not find it, any ideas on where it is? where i can findit? and how i can get the program onto my new laptop without the cd, ithought i could easily do it this way...
The files you copied are the installed files which is installed by the install shield wizard(or setup file). The installed files do not contain the setup or install shield file. You can use the software by double clicking the .exe file (most probably by names starting with rtv or sym).if everything goes successfully symantes icon will appear on the task bar.
