There is one pin/wire on the VGA connector that translates to the color red on your screen. If you aren't seeing any red, I would suspect that there is damage to the integrated VGA connector on the motherboard, or a component failure in the circuit.
These are great desktop boards.
The Video bus on these boards are shared between the integrated (onboard) video card and port and the AGP slot. This means that you can only use one or the other. When you install an AGP card in the slot it overrides the integrated video including your problem.
If you are good with electronics I'd take a look at the board under the scope and look for damage.
I would rist check with intel on the warranty. You may be surprised. I've had several of these replaced via RMA through intel. They are a bit older but still by desktop board of choice.

hey try the removing cards..... window 7 may took up it best when no such changes are around.. ! Gb or 2 RAm is enough to get run your Win 7 and sound card is noot required untill you have 4 or more speakers
Good Day sir, try to check the CMOS/BIOS setup, and go look for Initial Display First, there are several options, Onboard / AGP / PCI. OR, after you remove your AGP, clear the CMOS/BIOS setup. find the jumper wire near the battery this sets your motherboard to factory setup and uses the onboard VGA. test the pc without the AGP.
Check the motherboard user guide for how to reset to default factory settings. If the BIOS is set to work with the on-board only and the on-board VGA is dead the motherboard is supose to detect that and switch to AGP. If is not doing that chances are not only the on-board VGA controller is gone ... the motherboard is gone too.
Try with a PCI video card.
1.Reboot with the AGP or PCI video card installed - assuming the on-board is gone but the motherborad still OK.
2. Press DELETE key
is supose to go in BIOS settings menu.
Browse and Look for on board VGA adapter ENABLE/DISABLE setting or something similar.
If you installed an AGP graphics card before your fist boot of the system, you will not receive display. By default the onboard graphics is set to boot display. (If this is the case, remove the AGP graphics card & boot the system). The Asus P4SGX-MX can only use a 4x AGP 1.5volt (only) card. There is an order of sequences to perform before installing/ adding an AGP graphics card on to the board when the board also uses an integrated graphics card. First, shut down the system & unplug the power supply from the PC. Connect your monitor to the VGA port at the rear of the board. Remove the AGP card. Re-connect the power supply & boot the system. You should have display? Re-boot the system. As the system starts up press the delete key on the keyboard every 2 seconds. The bios main menu will load. (Open your manual). Go to section 2.4.3, page 2-20 under Advanced, PCI configuration. Set Primary VGA bios to [AGP VGA Card]. Save the bios & exit. The system will auto restart. Press & hold the power on/ off button on the PC case until the system shuts off. Unplug the power cord from the PC. Insert the AGP card into the AGP slot. Connect your monitor to the AGP card. Check all internal data & power cables, (Incase something came loose). Re-connect the power cord & boot the system. You should have display! Install your video software. If your using the integrated VGA PCI graphics card, go over the bios settings page 2-18 & 2-20.
Hi geminip3, you need to make a couple bios changes when using a PCI-E graphics card. Still have your manual? Go to page 36. Advanced Chipset Features. Onboard GPU (Enable If No Ext GPU). By adding a PCI-E card this should be set to Disable. Than go to page 44. Init Display First (PCI Slot), set this to [PCI-E]. Read each page. Than save your bios & exit. The system will auto restart. If you do not see display, wait about a minute & remove the monitor cable to the second out put slot. Some PCI-E cards need more power than the PCI-E motherboard slot can provide. You may find a power port on the PCI-E card. Some look just like the power cord for a floppy, others look like the power cord for an IDE hard disk drive. The latest ones are black in color & one end connects to an opened 4-pin molex (IDE power cord). Let’s address the onboard video card. (No PCI-E card attached). Back to page 36. Onboard GPU should be set to [Enable]. Page 44. Set Init Display First to [VGA/PCI]. Page 45. PCI/VGA Palette Snoop, set to [Disable]. I was unable to find where in the bios one can set the amount of system memory to run the onboard VGA. ECS manual is not the easiest to work with. Note: Ihave worked on other ECS MB's & though the above information has worked out ok for some, its not worked out for others. If the above suggestions do not work out, suggest you call ECS tech. I have emailed ECS stating their manual is confusing & asked for them to explain bios settings for VGA & PCI-E. Correct bios settings for your MB & user jrl1261's MB GeForce6199PM-M2. If the above settings do not work out. Don't fret. ECS wil get back to me & I'll post their email here.

How to enable you're (Add-in AGP video card) & disable the onboard, integrated S3 graphics UniChrome 2D/3D PCI graphics card.
Enter you're bios. Open you're user manual to page 3-13. Integrated Peripherals. Go to, Init display first. Set to AGP.
(Not to PCI). That is all you need to change. The MSI bios will than see you're add in AGP card & automatically disable the PCI S3 graphics, (Onboard) card.
