Best thing to do, other than taking it apart is to get a hard flat surface and a sheet of a4 paper, take any cases etc off the phone hold it flat down to the surface and then roll it around, i normally find in a circular motion works best, this frees mine up perfectly. failing that you will need to take it apart which isnt that hard and clean the pressure pad below the roller ball but this is a bit fiddly!

My dyson ball fell over and now the ball won't roll properly and not picking up... Please can u advise how to fix the issue

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. If the Ball will not roll, it may be because the filter cover or HEPA filter are out of position. Please see the video below for guidance on how to check both of these are correctly fitted in place.

If the cleaner doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, I'd recommend running through these troubleshooting steps to check everything is correct with the machine:

If you have any further questions about using or maintaining your cleaner, please get in touch with us directly by calling free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

My tracking ball has stopped working. Tried removing the battery while powered on, but it's still not working properly. Can move sideways but not up or down and can't retrieve messages.

All that is, is dirty. Just push it down a few times and try to roll it in a circle and dislodge what's stuck in it. Once you get it rolling free. Take a cotton swab, dip it in pure rubbing alcohol, not dripping, and rub it all over the ball, move the ball around and let it dry for like 3min. Your ball will be fixed and clean

Won't scroll down but will scroll up, have tried turning it upside down & rolling the ball around but it didn't help

Have you tried cleaning out the inside where the ball sits? If you flip your mouse upside down you should see a circle around the ball that should have "open" and "close" arrows. Spin the circle towards open and once it stops spinning flip it over -- the circle and the ball should fall right out. Take a look at the 2 straight bars that sit on top of the mouse ball -- one is for horizontal movement, the other for vertical. Most likely, there is a buildup of dust and debris on them (it will probably look like a grey spot that covers the center of the bars). Remove this debris with your finger-nails (as they will not scratch the bars themselves) and then wipe them with some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. Once the bars are clean, drop the ball back in, and put the circular cover back on (don't forget to lock it in place by spinning it to "close".
This SHOULD resolve your issue. If it does not, there may be a problem with your mouse's movement sensors ... which would most likely mean that you should buy a new mouse (they are pretty inexpensive these days). If you have to buy a new one, I recommend grabbing an optical mouse -- it has no moving parts and will prevent this problem in the future.

I can't scroll down with the rollerball

The balls on the blackberry's get clogged up with finger oil, skin, and all sorts of grime I think. But I fixed mine by shutting the phone down and then rubbing hard against the roll ball in each direction and pushing each time until the clicker under the roll ball clicked. You could also try alcohol.

Blackberry rolling ball issues

Is the ball registering left right up and down and just not selecting? Sometimes the ball gets dirty. You can clean them most of the time. If its the actual select button, it sounds like it needs replacing. This repair runs 65.00 plus shipping. The actual button is a solder-on button so it requires more attention. You may just need to clean it. Many times when people use hand lotion or other things oil etc. it gets on the ball and interferes with the board. Try cleaning the ball with cottonball and alcohol. It really makes a difference.
Hope this helps.

Blackberry rolling ball will not roll down

Cleaning the track ball on blackberry phones. Remove the metal ring then the ball mechanism remember how you removed it because it needs to go in the same way. You can also try removing the battery from phone taking a qtip with alcohol the higher the percentage of alcohol the better. and wiping and rolling the ball around even without removing it from the phone. this usually helps unless the ball is extremely dirty. Below are step by step ins for removing the ball. just follow the link
