Phone is going into Mute

Uniden offers a variety of electronics products including corded and cordless telephones. Each of these phones features the ability to mute the phone whenever you desire. Muting the phone can be done as often as you like and canceled as you desire. The steps to muting your phone will vary depending on the type of phone you are using.
b> Locate the "Mute" button on the phone. The button will be on the keypad near the number keys. Press the "Mute" button to mute the phone. Look for the "Mute" indicator on the phone's display to ensure that the phone is muted. Speakerphone Volume Use the VOL (+ or -) buttons to adjust the speakerphone listening volume while it is in use.

To adjust the speaker volume, press up/down on the base unit.

To change the ringer volume:
Make sure your phone is OFF (not in talk mode).
Press the MUTE/PROG button to go to the main menu.
Press CID/VOL (up or down) button to scroll to "HANDSET SETUP".
Press MUTE/PROG button to confirm.
Press CID/VOL (up or down) button to scroll to "RINGER VOLUME".
Press MUTE/PROG button to enter the menu. "SET RINGER 1HI 2LOW 3OFF" shows in the display.
Use the touch tone pad on the handset to select 1, 2 or 3, or use the CID/VOL (up or down) button to scroll to your selection. HI is the default setting.
Press the MUTE/PROG button to save your selection. You will hear a confirmation tone and the new volume setting shows in the display.

To change the receiver volume: When the handset is ON (in talk mode) you may adjust the receiver volume by pressing the CID/VOL (up or down) button.

there might be something wrong with your front camera... when u make a phone call and cover up the front camera the screen goes black "to save battery"

Try using a bluetooth device, if it works, you have a hardware problem, meaning that you need to technician so they can take it apart and replace the speaker.

Well that would be hard to believe you can't get mute off since you have to personally initiate mute while during a call and the mute would be disable after you hang up. The mute button is located on the left side below the screen. Now here is what you might want to look at. Make sure TTY mode is off, this option would put your phone in permanent mute. Go to settings then to call settings, TTY mode should be off. If this still doesn't work and your phone displays "car kit" on the main screen then your phone is probably water damage or needs repair.

Receiving Calls
1. To answer a call, touch or open the slide.
 If the slide is closed, simply slide it up.
 If the slide is closed, press the Voice
Commands key twice, then touch .
 If the slide is open and the touch buttons are
lit, touch .
NOTE If you touch Left Soft Key [Quiet] while the
phone is ringing, the ringing or vibration is muted
for that call.
NOTE If you touch Right Soft Key [Ignore] while the
phone is ringing, the call will end.



Mute Function
The Mute Function prevents the transmission of
your voice to the caller. To quickly activate Mute
touch Left Soft Key [Mute], then to unmute
touch Left Soft Key [Unmute].

NOTE! while doing this you must call someone then while talking with him touch Left Soft Key [Unmute] to Unmute

Did you try replacing the battery? If so take it to a cell phone store and get it fixed.

maybe you have your phone on mute, to where you can hear them but they can't hear you? Next time you make a call, tell that person to hold on and if they can't hear you, look through the option menus you can access only when you're in the middle of a call. Otherwise, contact the phone company and gripe.

Not sure if this will help you, but when you slide the phone open, do you see 4 red lit-up indicators surrounding your center data wheel? On mine there are:
Red line - top left
Red line - top right
SPK - bottom left
CLR - bottom right
(Note that the indicators stay lit for about 20 seconds)

The indicator at the top left is the MUTE On/Off switch (you will see "MUTE" in the main display, just above the top left indicator). Although there is no real 'switch' there, you just push on that red indicator. It should vibrate when you turn MUTE on or off.

If the indicators go dark, the switch stops working. In that case, you have to slide the LOCK switch (this is a real switch, on the right side of the phone...it's the middle thing - above the MUSIC switch and below the micro SD opening). Just slide downwards and let go...the indicators should light back up, and you can use the MUTE switch then.

And BTW, the reason I am answering this question is because despite all I've just explained, my Chocolate MUTE swith, and all those indicator switches, have recently become intermittent. Which means when I am on an important call, after I switch to MUTE I find I can't get it out of MUTE. So if you try the above and it doesn't work, maybe your phone has a problem like mine....

What type of phone do you have? and does it have a wide audio headphone connectors ? as same as Nokia phones?

Usually it's a problem with the "headphone" settings...
