Are able to print? If yes, please tryy to scan by using Ms Paint. If you can scan from Ms Paint please reinstall the scanning driver software. You can download the full feature drivers and softwares from www.hp.com.

I would recommend using the built in networking. You can connect your printer to the network, then use the install disk to install it. During the install wizard, make sure to select the option for the networked (TCP/IP) connected printer. You will install the printer seperately on each machine. Alternativly, you can install the printer on one machine and share it across the network. There is a button on the Sharing tab to install additional Drivers. You use this button to install the driver for the other operating system. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more information.

One thing you can try instead of deleting the doucment writer is to change the default printer. You can do this by right-clicking on the HP printer icon and selecting "set as default" from the drop down box. Also try turning the printer off and back on aswell as restaring the computer if you have'nt already. Did that printer ever work from that computer? How is it wired, by "switcher" do you mean a shared printer through you network(was printer sharing configured properly), or an A-B printer switch. Please clarify

dirver conflict, completely remove from OS, take off network and see if HP works independently well. reset on network and share again.

hmmm..sounds like a new set of drivers might be just the thing.
