You need to first make sure you have a video file on your memory stick in your PSP. The easiest way is to format the Mem stick. You can do this under the first icon with all you options on your PSP. Now the harder part of it.. You need to make sure the video is compatible with your PSP. The PSP plays Mp4 h264 files you cant just load any formatted video on the player and expect it to play. There are plenty of programs out there to do this. You can google it and find which product best suits you. I have found that DVD Fab works really well for this project. Once you have converted the video file to the proper Mp4 format connect your PSP to your pc. It will recognize it and usually auto-play. Click view files .... this will open a seperate window with the memory sticks files on it. Find the file labeled Videos and click and drag the file over to the PsP. After that disconnect the PsP by either pushing the O button or use your disconnection icon on your task bar on your pc and wholla you should be able to enjoy your video on a great screen.
the video has to be mp4 format. make sure the video has the (.mp4) at the end of the name. If not, use a video converter like psp video 9. Its free. Also, make sure that your psp is updated. and that you are putting the video in the right folder. Its (/mp_root/100MNV01).
PSP running a firmware 2.80 or newer, you can also use MPEG-4 in MP4, which also plays MPEG-4 videos. then Copy Video file To PSP into "VIDEO" folder", and you are done! to play it, on psp menu > Video > MemoryStick > x(enter) / triangle (information).
format Memory stick with psp for get organize of folder. hope this helps.
First of all make sure that the movies you want to transfer are of the Mpeg4 format.
For info on how to convert different files into the correct format follow this link : www.memorystick.com/psp
Choose the movie icon from the main menu, insert a UMD or a Memory Stick Duo, a new icon will show up. Choose the icon and press the X button. The movie should now play.
In order to download the movie into the Memory Stick Duo you have 3 options:
1. use a computer with a Memory Stick slot.
2. use a compatible USB cable.
3. use an external Memory Stick reader with a USB connection.
Note that the PSP cannot read files converted in a rate higher then 768 KBPS.
