Question about Computers & Internet
My DVD drive face plate is loose and the drive will not lock closed now. Can this be repaired or do I need to replace the whole drive?
If the mechanism that holds the tray is damaged, you have to replace the whole drive.

Tips for a great answer:
Oct 31, 2012 | Toshiba Satellite Computers & Internet
Turn off the Toshiba laptop, remove the AC adapter and any other peripheral devices, and close the lid.
Turn the laptop over.
Touch an unpainted metal surface to discharge any static electricity. Release the battery lock-usually located near the back of the laptop-and remove the battery from its bay.
Remove the screw holding the DVD drive in place.
Where the screw is located depends on your Toshiba's model, but in newer laptops-particularly the Satellite-the screw is located next to the Toshiba sticker.
Unlike the other screws, which are embedded into the laptop, the DVD screw is even with the rest of the laptop's surface.
Gently pull the DVD drive from its bay to remove it from the laptop
hope this helps
