I just bought a samsung G2 portable 500GB external hard disk a month ago. At first, I just used it without formating. However, the data will go missing. Therefore, I further do the formating of the disk. Now the disk cannot be read by any PC. What should i do

take a look at the properties..by right click on its icon on my computer ..and see if it is not set to read only ...or right protected...cause this may cause the data not to be able to be changed or formatted ..If on properties the read only is ticked ..just clear the case ..and let it empty ...after that try to format it again in Fat32

Well, the correct answer it continue without scanning. With respect to files that became hidden, you can set the options of Windows Explorer to show hidden files.

Try deleting any partitions on the drive by using Control panel, administrative tools, computer management, disk management. now highlight the drive and right click and click on delete partition. Now create a new partition and see if it will do a full format on it. if not then its stuffed. you have no choice but to buy another drive.

CRC errors mean that your drive is failing. Return and replace the drive if it is still under warranty.

Sounds like a driver issue with your hard drive. If you have the software that came with the hard drive you may be able to reinstall the drivers. Or, alternatively, look up the hard drive online and download the drivers from Samsung's website.

If the warranty still is valid, exercise the warranty to get it replaced, at minimal cost to you.
If the warranty has expired, open the enclosure, remove the disk-drive, and take the disk-drive to a computer-store. Buy a new, compatible, drive, and then "transplant" it into the enclosure, to "revive" your external file-storage appliance.
