IBM T30 wireless and graphis driver

it might be that your wireless is not activated or disabled. look for a key on your keyboard which has a wireless picture on it,then press that key with the Fn (function) key at the same time when you're on the desktop. or if it's still doesn't work, the network you try to connect is not available
for the video driver, you can download it here

The drivers for the hardware don't exist for windows 8. You need to format. turn on holding the 0 key. follow steps to set to factory defaults, save your pictures and documents first cause this will erase them.

My wlan (function/F10) key doesn't work/light stays amber!!!!! No wireless internet/Internet only works when directly plugged into PC.

Check in device manager for the wireless card. Right click 'my computer' select 'properties' click the hardware tab and device manager, it should be listed as a network device. if it's listed update the drivers, it may just be disabled in windows. If it's listed as installed and working correctly in device manager it may be faulty.
you can also try running 'cmd' to lauch the command prompt and typing "ipconfig /all" this will show all available devices in your computer and their state.

Good luck.

My laptop will not connect to wifi and the wifi bars have a red cross on it?! help

Check wheather the drivers of wi-fi is installed in your computer or not..
if yes, then go to ncpa.cpl in run and try to connect with your network.
and if doesn't work, then remove all the networks from " Network and sharing center>manage wireless network".
remove all the wireless networks from there and restart your computer, and then try to connect with your network.

if there is no driver installed, then installed the driver from vendor website.

My Toshiba L505 ES5018 FN keys is not working

Hello. It's possible the driver for the wireless card(network interface controller) was not installed properly. Try to download the drivers from Toshiba website and install on your laptop. You may get the WiFi Driver from this link
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2520800&rpn=PSLU0U&modelFilter=L505-ES5018&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663

There's two WiFi Driver available, try to use the Realtek first and if it doesn't work try the Atheros. If WiFi driver installed correctly you should no longer see the "!" symbol and you will be able to enable wireless on your laptop using FN key combination.

Hope this works for you.

Would like advise on how to install a wireless mouse on a laptop

Wireless mice come with a USB dongle and a wireless mouse. Install batteries in the mouse and plug in the USB dongle into 1 of your USB ports on your laptop while in Windows. Windows will detect the mouse and automatically install the software needed to communicate with the mouse. If Windows doesn't install this device automatically, try installing the drivers included on the driver CD.

Wireless problem

I'm Guessing your using Ubuntu 7.04... Due to a bug in the native driver shipped with Ubuntu, the wireless card on this laptop is detected and installed but you cannot find any wireless networks. Here’s how to fix it.
* Let’s disable the native Ubuntu driver. Type this in a terminal:
gksu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
and insert at the very end of the file:
# buggy broadcom wireless driver
blacklist bcm43xx

* Next, do this in a terminal:
sudo rmmod bcm43xx
* Now, let’s download and install the windows driver for the wireless card. You have to download it from the Dell support website. Click here to download it.
Or you can use the direct link to the executable:
http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/R140747.EXE
Since it’s a windows self-extracting executable, you need wine to use it:
sudo apt-get install wine
then:
wine <path_to_R140747.EXE>
Replace <path_to_R140747.EXE> with the actual physical path to the file you downloaded from the Dell support website. Follow the instructions and extract the files to a folder of your choice. Alternatively, you could extract the files on a windows machine and copy them over to your ubuntu system.
* Now, let’s install ndiswrapper. We need it to load the windows driver.
sudo aptitude install ndisgtk ndiswrapper-common ndiswrapper-utils-1.9
* Let’s install the windows driver:
sudo ndiswrapper -i <location_of_bcmwl5.inf_file>
Replace <location_of_bcmwl5.inf_file> with the path to the bcmwl5.inf file you extracted earlier.
* Let’s make sure the driver is installed:
sudo ndiswrapper -l
You should get something like this:
bcmwl5 : driver installed
device (14E4:4311) present (alternate driver: bcm43xx)

* Now we need to set up ndiswrapper to load our new driver automatically:
sudo gedit /etc/modules
and add a new line that says:
ndiswrapper
That’s it, restart your laptop. During the restart, the wiFI LED should light up. If it doesn’t, try the Fn + F2 key combination. After the reboot, configure your network settings:
System -> Administration -> Networking
Enable the wireless connection and tinker with the connection settings if you need to. You may have to disable the wired connection because wireless and wired connections may not work simultaneously - your mileage may vary in this regard.
Note:
It seems Network Manager prevents the card from connecting to detected wireless networks. I advise you to remove it if you can detect wireless networks but cannot connect to them. To do this, type the following in a terminal:
sudo apt-get –purge remove network-manager network-manager-gnome
Alternatively, you can open Synaptic and remove these two packages.
* Summary:
1.) Install ndiswrapper
sudo apt-get install ndisgtk ndiswrapper-common ndiswrapper-utils-1.9
2.) Install the windows wireless driver
sudo ndiswrapper -i <location_of_bcmwl5.inf_file>
Remember to replace <location_of_bcmwl5.inf_file> with the actual path to the location of the bcmwl5.inf file
3,) Make sure the card has been detected and installed
ndiswrapper -l
4.) Disable the native ubuntu wireless driver
gksu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
Insert at the very end of the file:
# buggy broadcom wireless driver
blacklist bcm43xx
5.) Remove Network Manager if it gives you problems
sudo apt-get –purge remove network-manager network-manager-gnome
Reboot
You wireless card should be working flawlessly now.

I Hope this helps :)
Cheers

WIRELESS DRIVERS

first check wht is the color of wireless card is it BLUE or AMBER.

--> If Amber thn first check with the button is it on or off .
--->IF ON then check in the device manager (type device manager in start search).
---> IF you dont found the wireless drivers or wireless card in device manager uninstall install the drivers from the recover manager (type recover manager in start search and thn select hardwire driver installations).
--> IF still dont work thn rest the wireless card and the wirless card would be at the rare end of the computer in place of the ram and you can check the ram and wirless card .
--> if after rest the wireless card still didnt work thn u need to get new wireless card or u can check update the bios if u are able to connect with the wireless card and then it would work.

ALL THE BEST.

----> IF ITS BLUE AND STIILL NOT WORKING THEN
--> which in the device manager.
-->Select start search and type run and then whn u get run window type CMD and there would be a black screen and under black screen u need to type the IPCONFIG.
-->if u type if confige thn there would be many resonce like IP ADDRESS,MEDIA DISCONNECT,SUBNET MARKS.

IF MEDIA DISCONNECT WE NEED TO DO THE TOP STEPS OF AMBER.

IF IP ADDRESS THEN CONTACT YOUR ISP.

IF NOT STILL DIDNT WORK U NEED TO DO RECOVER.
