I had this problem. If you look at the valve on the plastic water tank, you will see that those parts are the same. They fit inside the tumble dryer to shut off the water from flowing onto the floor when the water tank is removed. The white hollow cylinders in the tumble dryer and the water tank push each other open. If you study the water valve on the tank you will see how it is put together. It is all held in place by a little 9mm O ring at the back of the valve. The ring gets tired after a while and pops off. The valve then falls apart and you find the cylinder and spring on the floor and the O ring still inside the dryer. I bought an O ring kit and reassembled the valve inside the dryer using a new ring. You will have to pull the dryer out, turn it upside down and remove the floor to do this

Zanussi condenser dryers

It can be mechanical or electrical malfunction. I would check tank microswitch, float and lever.
Below is explained how the condensate drainage system works and that will facilitate fault detection.

The warm and cold air circuits cross inside the heat exchanger, which results in a thermal exchange which condenses the humidity contained in the warm air. The condensation which forms in the heat exchanger is collected in a sump, from which it falls by gravity into a tank. When the water in the tank reaches the max. level, the level of the water in the sump increases, which causes the float to move upwards, thus actioning a microswitch; The microswitch for dryers with electronic board sends a signal to the electronic circuit when the tank has been filled, switches off the appliance and lights a pilot lamp which indicates to the user that the tank is full. The microswitch with electromechanical control switches off the dryer (the timer motor is powered and ends its cycle) and lights a pilot lamp which indicates to the user that the tank is full.

Pat, Have you found a solution to this yet? I have got exactly the same fault today ! Having taken the top & left side of the dryer off, I found what looks like a broken drive belt - not the main drum drivebelt which is fine, but a shorter one (about 18cm diameter loop) with no obvious place for it to have come from. Any clues would be appreciated. Dave ([email protected])

Water leak on Zanussi tc7102 dryer

I had a similar problem. There is a 'o' ring on the plastic part that keeps coming out. This 'o' ring is not big enough, you need to replace it with a thicker one, preferably one made from a harder material.

Bosch classixx condenser drier

The problem is with the lower water tank float switch, it is stuck. Take off the right hand side panel (as you are facing the machine) at the bottom you will see a spring mechanism for the belt tension. Beside this there are 2 electrical connectors. Take them off and spray with wd40 or similar. Whilst off give the plastic box they fit 2 a light tap with a hammer to free the float switch. Reconnect and try. If this fails you can over-ride by leaving the left hand of the two plugs off. This will get your machine working but you will not have an indication as to when the water container needs emptying so you will need to remember.
