Very slow PDF and large files printing

I have a problem with bizhub 250. When I send a .pdf file to print, it goes very slow - it prints every single page with long time intervals, so it take about 15min to print 30 pages from .pdf. I don't have that kind of problem when printing .doc or other documents. Any sugestions? Thanks

Same problem but for us we were able to get around it by printing say 5 pages at a time. I realize that this is silly for a 60 page doc or more but it was a work around.

It has nothing to do with your files but with a setting on the copier. Press*utility*user management*number 5 or 6 and make sure to select priority device to printer.

This seems to be a common problem for many printers. When printing, try changing your print resolurtion to the lowest possible for the printer - 300 dpi will be fine for text documents. Reduces the size of the file sent to the printer enourmously, and prints faster.

It is most likely being caused by complicated elements within the PDF. The fact it is only SOME PDFs indicates this.

You could try sending it to a user box, this way it will download the file and then you can recall it from the panel. This will reduce the amount of time the MFP is offline due to thge slow printing.

Try reducing the file size, if it is colour, convert to B/W and send.

Might be worth while -- same problem here with larger size PDF's but if you print them 5 or so pages at a time the problems seems to vanish!

Hope that helps someone out there!

Check to make certain that your preferences are not set to convert the document into a bitmap before printing. I actually have to do this when printing to avoid some nasty vertical lines which show up with fonts like Times New Roman, and trust me...3 hours to print a 16 page test of our tabloid sized newspaper just because the alternative is an ugly and unreadable is indeed the proverbial "Rock and a hard place".

Using PostScript drivers seems to fix the problem.

Biz hub 250 Pdf printing problem

Hi I am former Konica Tech Support for 26 years. I do some network problem. Y may need to upgrade the copier memory. or this just simple setting. on the printing side I can assure you no problem. there is a setting on the operation panel choosing if you prepared pdf when ever you to e-mail, scan to box or scan to SMB. You can delete the old print driver and the control panel delete your even the printer Icon at the printer and fax folder. Re install the printer and the printer driver. And make sure send a test print. If so happened that you don't have the print driver you can go to Konica web site and download the print driver. There are many kind of print driver. postscript driver and etc. I hope this info will help you and if not you may contact me again.

Bizhub 250 slow to print files

When you ask to print the page are you asking for more the one copy? If you are there is a collate check button next to the requested sets box, in the print dialog box. Make sure its not check. Collating the print means your PC sends a copy of the file for each requested copy. IE: you print one page and ask for six copies, your PC sends the file six times, one copy of the file for each print requested.

Also because your printing from a windows application IE: Excel you should be using the PCL print driver as apposed to a PostScript print driver. The time it takes to convert the file into PostScript for the printer to process it is time consuming.

Slow Printing Problem

It sounds like compression has been applied to the PDF.
Are you using the PCL or PS driver?

Is it a 350 or a C350/Fiery. How are you able to see the finsihed size of the file when printed?

If it is a Fiery, try importin g the file directly to identify if it is a software/driver issue.

Sounds like you are just bogging down the Printer's memory.

Your best option is to upgrade the memory.
