I have never herd of a red and blue combo but, The three, red, blue, and green are "component" cables. Hopefully your DVD player has a red, blue, adn green component out, not to be confused with red composite out. Composite cables are yellow, red and white, and, your tv has componenet in. The component cable will give you the best video quality. When installing make sure they are inserted all the way but twisting and wiggling or you will have a bluish, grenish, etc. picture. The composite cables give you the video only, so you will have to provide the audio. Audio can be achived using composite red and white or digital optical.If you second monster cable is red and white you can probably use those To go from "audio" red and white out on DVD to audio in red and white on tv. You must use the same audio input that corresponds to you video input.

Use three RCA cables, yellow, white and red to connect DVD player to TV as shown in the diagram below. Connect yellow to yellow and white to white. Connect red to red. Select on the TV, the A/V input where the DVD is connected using the TV remote control. Power on TV and DVD, place a disc in tray of DVD player and press PLAY.

The component connection should have one red, one green, and one blue connector that will connect to the back of your player and the back of your television. Then there should also be another red and a white connector that should run from the AUDIO L & R OUT of your player to the AUDIO L & R IN beside the Component IN connections on your TV. The yellow cord would normally be running from the VIDEO OUT on the back of your player to one of the VIDEO IN connections of your TV.

hey I think you need to use component cables blue green red from the player to the tv, make sure the blue green red ports are also on the tv, note: red yellow white composite cable will not interchange with blue green red component cable or connection.

simplify- blue green red= component
red white yellow=composite

*wires must match colors on both tv and player inputs.

then set your input on your tv to where you conected the cable.

Ive got 3 samsung tv's (lcd, plasma, DLP) and I use HDMI cables on all of them. Its the only way to get the full potential out of the tv. When you use the red/white/yellow RCA cables the signal is anolog aka "old technology". Component cables are good but HDMI is the best. HDMI is a digital signal and thats what all the components that go with the tv should be run on. If your dvd player does not have an HDMI output I would suggest getting one that has that output. As for the cable box most require you to upgrade to digital cable in order to get one with an HDMI output. If you dont want to spend the money on new components and run what you have now the picture will stay mediocre at best. Good luck hope this helped

There are several ways to connect the TV to the DVD player but you can only take advantage of the progressive scan option on your player if you use component cable. Component cable has three input jacks on it and they are colored Green, Blue, and Red. Your TV/amplifer must have component input jacks on the back of it to use this cable. If it does, then the input jacks on the back of the TV are usually labled Y, Pa, and Pr. The Y input is for the Green input jack, the Pa input is for the Blue input jack and the Pr is for the Red input jack. Once you have these plugged in you will next need to hookup the audio/vidoe cable that came with your DVD player that has a Yellow, White, and Red input jacks on it. The Yellow input jack is for Video and the White and Red are for audio. Both your TV and DVD player will have inputs for these so just match them up. If you do not have component inputs on your TV then just hook up the audio/video cable and it will work.

You can use any of those to connect the dvd player to the tv. You can use the remainder to connect the satilite box.
