It works the same way with my car ( pontiac grand prix), I only get 3 tries and the nit locks up. Though I never had the problem, I was told that in order to get 3 more tries you have to disconnect the battery for a few hours to allow the car's computer to clear your attempts and give you another shot. If that doesn't work you'd have to go to the dealer and they have their own code (or are supposed to) which is a mian override code. Good luck!

I have a 1999 Lexus ES300 and i used the instructions on your site to check all fuses but for some reeason my stereo wont work. i just had my alternator and battery changed, would this affect it?

replacing the battery if not done with a standby battery in the system will activate the anti-theft device in the radio rendering it useless until the code is re-installed in it
the code could be in the owners operator manual. available form the dealer where you bought the vehicle or possibly from on line sites

How do you remove 2001 mazda 626 factory amp?

  • 1 Open the hood and remove the negative battery cable from the car battery. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the cable clamp, if necessary.
  • 2 Remove the manual shift knob from the central panel by unscrewing the knob and then lifting it away. Pry the gear shift trim from the central console and then remove the Phillips screw.
  • 3 Remove the side panel to the console holding the radio at its base in the foot-well on the driver's side. Grasp the panels at the front corners and pry them from the console. Remove the single Phillips screw. Repeat the process with the panel on the passenger's side.
  • 4 Pull the center console backwards slightly from the front console of the car, revealing the bottom of the radio/climate control assembly. Remove the two Phillips screws securing the radio to the console and then pull the radio from its cavity in the front console. Unplug the speaker wires, the antenna lead, the power cable and the amplifier cable from the rear of the radio as you pull it away to remove it completely.

I have the 6-digit codes from my radio. i need the 1-800 number to call. thanx

Radio code is specific for each and every car. It is specific like anti theft code.

You can get it by providing your VIN# and registration details in authorized dealership.
Nobody else can provide you. If anybody can provide you that , then there is no meaning of security for your car.

I have bought a kenwood cd player for the car and PROTECT keeps coming up on the main screen . what shall i do ?

hi this is telling you that you need a pass code to unlock the cd , what has happened is that it has been disconnected from a power source for a period of time and is now required to have a code put in, this is an anti theft security device that obviously stops people from stealing the system and selling it on without the code, and also, please note!! if you put the code in wrong 3 times it will make the system unusable yet another security feature as can if you haven't got one, ask on here to see if anyone may have a code for it, they will need the serial number, and some have a security number, try giving them as many numbers as you possibly can and the model number as this will help them...hope this helps

How do i change a am radio and put a am/fm in.a 1993 chevy pick up

This is the best way to do it. First, buy a radio. I doesn't matter what kind, you can have tape deck, or cd. Anything you can get at a place that sells car radio's that is a single din sized.

Then get the in dash adapter kit. this will make the radio fit in the space. If you have a double din space, which is twice the size of most after marked head units your gonna need this, and that what you most likely have. If you do you could actually get a double din size radio if you wanted but they are usually $$.

Next get a " 1993 chevy to (what ever brand radio you have) adapter". So if you get a sony head uning, then get a "1993 chevy to sony adapter"

Note some times they come in to peices, "car to universal, then universal to radio type."

Best buy sells these, and other places that sell car audio head units etc.

you never want to cut the stock wiring harness plug off. You just make wiring the radio a pain, and if you ever want to change it down the road, its another pain.

Use the adapter to connect the radio easily. Remove the radio, usually there are screws under a cover part of the dash. this peice usually come off by pulling it, and usually has no screws, but chey some times has a couple.

then there should be 2 screws on each side to remove the unit.

Install the din adapter to fit the new radio, then plug in the wire with the adapter.

before you replace all screws and covers, test the radio to make sure it works because if you don't and you forgot a plug you will have do undo everything again.

if everything seems good replace screws and covers.

Ford Mondeo car radio is locked

The dealer needs to help you with this. This is part of the theft protection system built into many new cars. In most cases, only the dealer can turn it back on.
