It works the same way with my car ( pontiac grand prix), I only get 3 tries and the nit locks up. Though I never had the problem, I was told that in order to get 3 more tries you have to disconnect the battery for a few hours to allow the car's computer to clear your attempts and give you another shot. If that doesn't work you'd have to go to the dealer and they have their own code (or are supposed to) which is a mian override code. Good luck!

How do you get the anti theft system in a Mazda b4000 to recognize the key?

Got to take it to the dealer. Most times they'll need to hook up a dealer computer to set the key to the alarm system .

Have a new battery and all the lights/electrical work but the engine won't turn over...no sound at all when turning the key. Any ideas?

Its possible that you have some THEFT or PASSLOCK system that is armed when you disconnected your battery. Check in the owners manual the disarm procedure.

Hope this helps.

My battery had to be recharged on my 1994, BMW 318... My anti-theft system and radio are not working now as a result, but worked fine before the battery was recharged... There is a CODE msg in the...

When you take the battery cables loose from an anti-theft system, You would place a nine volt (9V) battery across the positive and negative cables to hold the memory chip in the systems. This allows you to remove the battery for a period of time longer than a few minutes. The system (anti-theft) is designed with a couple of capacitors in the system that hold the charge for a few minutes to allow changing of the battery. If the battery is removed for much longer than 30 minutes then the capacitors drain and the memory is lost in the chips.

You are going to have to go to the BMW dealer and have them re-write your system, and it will cost you about a hundred bucks. They have the plug in device that will restore the system and it is not sold to the general public. That is why it is called ant-theft, so if someone steals your radio it quits working.

1993 mazda 626: could not get trans out of park!

Ignition lock is activated: You over rode it but still have original problem. Alarm system might be confused. SO....

1 disconnect battery negative (-) cable(make you have radio code if any) to reactivate radio, which works anyway if code was never set.

2 press brake peddle for 5 seconds

3 reconnect negative cable to battery.

use key and twist diver door lock to OPEN (this resets alarm which might have caused ignition lock module to activate.

You should be able to turn on the ignition, start the engine and shift out of park. Hope this helps.
