but you sounds as if the paper sensor flag either got stuck or broken when the paper got jammed - you might have to take it to a shop to get an accurate diagnosis, without seeing it I couldn't tell you more than that....but you can still try this
, take a piece of ~70lb cardstock, and with the POWER OFF, gently push this through the paper-path of the printer - this will help to possibly reset that switch, and will help push anything else out that's in the way that may be blocking it.
again check the quality and the type of paper you feed it does it comform this could be one

Canon Pixma iX4000 always come out erorr

proabably means you replaced your ink recently and ushally if you pull them out and put them back in this will fix the issue
