We totally wiped out my computer and everything. reloaded windows xp on it, and now when we try to play any audio, it states that there is no audio drivers and we have no clue how to fix it.
its a compaq presario
sr1610nx
audio driver for xp
Installing only audio drivers will give you error "DRIVER INSTALLATION FAILED. COULD NOT FIND MEDIA DEVICE FOR THIS DRIVER" .so to solve this problem first you have to download microsoft universal audio driver and then install audio drivers

I have the same problem...No sound. I have a Compaq Presario SR1610NR desktop computer. Downloaded link 1, but when I try to download link 2....it says...Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver. What media device do I need and where can I find it?
Thanks for any assistance! I have been trying to fix this problem for days.
